Our team in Cambodia recently hosted an event which welcomed members of the fishing communities we've worked with to discuss outcomes of the GREEN project. 🙌

The project looked to improve resilience to climate change through increased access to waste management services and products, green economies, and education.

We achieved:

👉 1,683 marginalised people were been empowered through technical/vocational skill development and sustainable farming adoption within green economy space.

👉 3,544 fishing communities' members were educated on environmentally friendly behaviour changes and sustainable waste management practices.

👉 2,689 fishing communities' members created 24 full-time, part-time, and seasonal jobs.

👉 The project enabled 226 vulnerable youth to access basic education and vocational training programs, fostering their socio-economic and long-term resilience.

កាលពីព្រឹកទី២៤ ខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ២០២៥ អង្គការវីអេសអូកម្ពុជា មានមោទនភាពនៅក្នុងការបង្ហាញ នូវរបបគំហើញនៃផែនការយុទ្ធសាស្រ្តនៃកម្មវិធី ការស្ម័គ្រចិត្តដើម្បីសហគមន៍ខ្ញុំ (២០២៥-២០៣០) ក្នុងកម្មវិធីបណ្តុះបណ្តាលការស្ម័គ្រចិត្តដើម្បីសហគមន៍ខ្ញុំ (ស.ស.ខ/VMC 2025)។ ក្រោមការចូលរួមសហកាជាមួយនាយកដ្ឋានអភិវឌ្ឍកម្មវិធីយុវជន នៃអគ្គនាយកដ្ឋានយុវជន ក្រសួងអប់រំ យុវជន និងកីឡា អង្គការវីអេសអូកម្ពុជា បានចែករំលែកនូវខ្លឹមសារផែនការយុទ្ធសាស្រ្ដនៃកម្មវិធីការស្ម័គ្រចិត្តដើម្បីកំណត់ចក្ខុវិស័យ បេសកកម្ម គោលដៅយុទ្ធសាស្រ្ត និងផែនការវាយតម្លៃសម្រាប់វាស់វែងសមិទ្ធផលរបស់កម្មវិធីទាំងមូល។

On the morning of March 24, 2025, VSO Cambodia proudly presented the key findings of the Strategic Framework for the 'Volunteering for My Community' program (2025–2030) during the Volunteering for My Community Training Program (VMC 2025). In collaboration with the Department of Youth Program Development under the General Department of Youth at the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, VSO Cambodia took the opportunity to share key insights from the strategic plan, outlining the program’s vision, mission, strategic objectives, and evaluation framework to measure its overall impact and success.\

On February 20, 2025, VSO Cambodia had the honor of participating in the Evidence for Policy ( ) Forum of the GREEN Project, organized by Save the Children Cambodia. This forum was held to provide an opportunity for beneficiaries of the GREEN project in fishing communities, as well as sub-national and national stakeholders, to discuss project outcomes, key lessons learned, and remaining challenges. The discussions aimed to contribute to the design of future programs and policies based on evidence from the project’s final evaluation, ensuring the successful initiatives can be scaled up to enhance the resilience of vulnerable fishing communities.

Moreover, the forum also served as a platform to share the findings of the four-year final evaluation of the GREEN project, highlighting positive impacts on community members in target areas, best practices, key lessons learned, and challenges faced by fishing communities in the Tonle Sap region.
