🩵 What's Up at Mother's Heart This Week
It's been quiet on here, but not at Mother's Heart! The past few weeks have been full with visitors in Phnom Penh and Battambang, new faces, old friends, and a lot of good conversations.

Swipe through to see some of the faces who've been with us recently, including the Life Unlimited Church team, who are still with us this week, running training for our staff, mothers and carers, plus a session with our partner Holt Organisation for foster families, CCWC, and other community allies.

There've been a few other visits too that we haven't had the chance to share properly yet: Ami, ACCI Missions & Relief CI Field Worker;, Jen and her team at Unity Project Organisation; Michelle and Leonie from LifeHouse Church Coffs Harbour; and Nations Church Myaree Bible School students led by Bec. Every one of them meant something, and each deserves its own story, so consider this a promise of more coming soon.

Another week is coming to a close, and before we pause for the weekend, we wanted to share one of the small successes that made this week feel worth celebrating, like Mary's daughter.

We've been walking alongside Mary since before her daughter was even born. She has an intellectual disability, and her parents help care for the child, too. For most of the past two years, we've been concerned about the child's weight. She's small for her age, and growth has been slow going.

Our team visited again last week, and honestly, it was a good day. The little girl was so much more alert, smiling and responding to everyone around her. She's still under a healthy weight, but she's gaining a little more each day. Two years of slow, uneven progress. And it looks like it's leading somewhere good.

While putting this post together, we came across something one of our board members, Deb Kneale, said at ACCI's conference this week. It gave us a new way of looking at the last two years.

Our Phnom Penh team traveled up to Battambang for our Day of Prayer, our first time gathering all together as one team this year.

We gathered in prayer, for our staff in every role, for the mothers and children in our care, and for the board members, donors, and partners who walk alongside us across the world.

One line from one of the prayers stayed with us:
"None of this is our doing, Lord. It is Yours. And we are simply grateful to be part of it."

Nothing we do here, whether sitting with a mother in her hardest moment, working quietly behind a desk, driving a tuktuk or keeping the workplace clean, is ever small in God’s eyes. One team, one family, together in one place, and we didn't take a single moment of it for granted.

That same spirit carried through the rest of the day: shared meals, programme updates talked through side by side instead of over a screen, a stop at a local durian orchard (some of us far more excited about this than others 😄), and a dinner that stretched long into the evening.

So grateful for this team, and for the God who holds us all together. 🩵

Tomorrow, our whole team will be together in Battambang for our Day of Prayer and Midyear Staff Reflection.

One place. One heart. One purpose.
For the first time this year, we will all be in the same place together - for prayer, planning, reflection, and a little bit of fun, too.

We will be praying for the mothers and children in our care, for each other, and for the road ahead. We will also be praying for our donors, supporters, partners, our leadership team and Board of Directors, and everyone who is part of the Mother's Heart family, as we quietly step into our 16th year in Cambodia.

If you think of us tomorrow, we would love for you to pray with us, wherever you are in the world.

Welcome, Dalby Christian Family Church, to the Mother's Heart family! 🩵

Your generosity means vulnerable pregnant women and new mothers in Cambodia will have access to medical care, counselling, and the kind of support that helps a family stay together. It takes a village to walk alongside a mother in crisis, and we're thankful your hearts are in this with us.

Pigeon Cambodia recently turned a simple question into something real. For every nugget of advice their followers shared in the comments, they donated a baby bottle to Mother's Heart. Their community answered, and Pigeon Cambodia delivered:

🍼 100 baby bottles
🧴 100 tubes of moisturising cream for babies
🤱 50 tubes of cream for new mothers

For a mother finding her footing, caring for her baby while working toward a stable future for herself and her child's, these everyday essentials are one less thing to worry about.

At Mother's Heart, we support and encourage breastfeeding, and we provide alternatives when mothers need them. What matters most is that every baby is fed, and every mother is supported.

Our 2025 Annual Report is finally here.
It has taken us a little longer than we would have liked. Our team has been small and our hands have been full. But we think the wait was worth it.

2025 was a special year for us. Mother's Heart turned 15 in Cambodia, a milestone we marked quietly, in the way we know best, by showing up for the mothers and children who need us most. We are grateful for the donors and partners who made that possible. Thank you.

This report tells the story of what 2025 looked like for the mothers and children at the heart of everything we do, and we hope it moves you the way it moved us.
