Krousar Thmey Foundation

Krousar Thmey Foundation First Cambodian aid foundation for underprivileged children / Première fondation cambodgienne d'aide à l'enfance défavorisée

Krousar Thmey ("New Family" in Khmer) began life in the refugee camps in Thailand in 1991, and is the first Cambodian aid foundation for underpriviledged children. It is apolitical and non-denominational. Currently operating in 14 provinces, Krousar Thmey is run by Cambodians, for Cambodians. Our three programs:
- Education for Blind or Deaf Children: the only comprehensive education system for the Blinds and the Deaf in Cambodia, key to their integration;
- Child Welfare: protection centers and family houses for abandoned children, orphans, street children and victims of human trafficking, with respect of each and everyone's identity;
- Cultural and Artistic Development: school of arts and access to an artistic activity, to enable every child to appropriate their cultural heritage and develop creativity and self-confidence.

*****************************************************************

- Education pour enfants aveugles ou sourds : le seul programme d'éducation complet pour les aveugles et sourds au Cambodge, clé à leur intégration;
- Protection de l'enfance : centres de protection et maisons familiales pour enfants abandonnés, orphelins, enfants des rues et victimes de trafic humain, respectant l'identité de chacun;
- Développement artistique et culturel : école d'art et accès à une activité artistique, afin de permettre à chaque enfant de s'approprier son héritage culturel et de développer sa créativité et sa confiance en soi.

On 10 and 11 September, Krousar Thmey Foundation Academic and Career Counseling team organized an educational visit for 35 students from Takhmao, Siem Reap, and Poipet protection center both inside and outside case. Students visited two technical institutions: NPIC - Nᴀᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟ Pᴏʟʏᴛᴇᴄʜɴɪᴄ Iɴꜱᴛɪᴛᴜᴛᴇ ᴏғ Cᴀᴍʙᴏᴅɪᴀ in Phnom Penh and Don Bosco Hatrans Technical School Kep.🫰

The visit aimed to help students discover educational and career opportunities that match their talents, interests, and aspirations. Through discussions and campus tours, they gained valuable insights into technical and vocational training pathways for their future.❗️

Beyond career exploration, students also participated in a community service activity by planting mangroves at the Samaki Fisher Community, contributing to environmental conservation and community development.📌

We sincerely thank the NPIC - Nᴀᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟ Pᴏʟʏᴛᴇᴄʜɴɪᴄ Iɴꜱᴛɪᴛᴜᴛᴇ ᴏғ Cᴀᴍʙᴏᴅɪᴀ, Don Bosco Hatrans Technical School Kep, and Kampong Samaki Fishery Community for their warm hospitality and support.

A special thank you to our generous donors for making this meaningful experience possible. 💙
