នៅថ្ងៃទី ១០–១១ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ អង្គការមជ្ឈមណ្ឌលធនធានស្ត្រី (WRC) បានរៀបចំវគ្គបណ្តុះបណ្តាល “យេនឌ័រ និងសុខភាព” សម្រាប់យុវជនបង្គោល ចំនួន ៣០នាក់ (ស្រី ២១នាក់) ដែលក្រោមការគាំទ្រដោយអង្គការ Plan International។

🌱 Empowering Youth with Knowledge to Create Positive Change! 💜
On 10–11 September 2026, WRC conducted a “Gender and Health” training for youth focal points, with 30 participants (21 female), supported by Plan International.
Objective: To strengthen understanding of s*x and gender roles and encourage young people to reflect on gender-related attitudes and roles in their daily lives, contributing to positive behavioral change.
Through discussions and practical activities, the training strengthened young people’s understanding of:
✨ The differences between s*x and gender
🌿 The impact of gender inequality on women’s health
💡 Developing action plans to promote positive changes in gender roles within families and communities.

📍 Stung Treng Province

Last week, Plan International Cambodia and its partner organizations implementing projects in Stung Treng Province paid a courtesy visit and held a coordination meeting with the Provincial Committee for Consultation on Women and Children (PCCWC) of Stung Treng Province.

The meeting was chaired by H.E. Kot Bunmei, Member of the Provincial Council and Chair of the PCCWC, with participation from the Vice Chair and members representing the Provincial Department of Women's Affairs, Department of Education, Youth and Sport, Department of Health, Department of Rural Development, and Department of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation.

During the meeting, Plan International Cambodia and its partners shared updates on project and programme implementation, discussed continued collaboration to advance key initiatives for children and young people, and provided an update on Plan International Cambodia's organizational structure in Stung Treng Province.

នាព្រឹកថ្ងៃទី៩ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦នេះ ដោយមានកិច្ចសហការ​ និងការគាំទ្រពីអង្គការភ្លែនអន្តរជាតិកម្ពុជា ក្រសួងអភិវឌ្ឍន៍ជនបទ បានប្រកាសទទួលស្គាល់ជាផ្លូវការខេត្តព្រៃវែងដែលទទួលបានជ័យលាភីជាខេត្តបញ្ចប់ការបន្ទោបង់ពាសវាលពាសកាលកម្រិតខ្ពស់ ODF + ដោយមានការអញ្ជើញចូលរួមជាអធីបតីពីសំណាក់​ ឯកឧត្តម ឆាយ ប្ញទ្ធិសែន រដ្ឋមន្រី្តក្រសួងអភិវឌ្ឍន៍ជនបទ។

In the morning of September 9, 2026, with the cooperation and support of Plan Intnernational Cambodia, the Ministry of Rural Development officially recognized Prey Veng province as having achieved the highest level of Open Defecation Free Plus (ODF+) status. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Chhay Rithisen, Minister of the Ministry of Rural Development.

During the ceremony, Mr. Yi Kimthan, Interim Country Director of Plan International Cambodia, stated that this announcement represents more than just recognition of improved sanitation coverage. It represents a shared commitment to advancing public health, dignity, and the quality of life of every family, particularly children, girls, and vulnerable communities. He further stated: “As Cambodia continues its journey towards universal access to safely managed sanitation services, we must continue working together to ensure that no one is left behind. This means that every child grows up in a clean, healthy, and dignified environment.”

On 1 September 2026 in Ratanakiri Province and 3 September 2026 in Stung Treng Province, Plan International Cambodia, in partnership with Wathnakpheap Organization (WP), officially launched the Zero Child Early Marriage Community Project (ZIP). The events were presided over by H.E. Hou Samit, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Women's Affairs (MoWA), and attended by representatives from national and sub-national administrations, schools, youth groups, communities, and other key stakeholders.

The project aims to increase awareness and strengthen collaboration among government institutions, implementing partners, and local communities to prevent child and early marriage through effective, accountable, and participatory interventions. Through this initiative, stakeholders will gain a shared understanding of the project's objectives, implementation approaches, and expected outcomes, while reinforcing collective commitment and coordination mechanisms.

Importantly, the ZIP Project will complement to the in the making Action Plan
on Ending Child Marriage and Teenage Pregnancy 2026-2028, led by the Ministry of Women's Affairs (MoWA). By contributing to national efforts to address the root causes of child marriage and teenage pregnancy, the project will help strengthen girls' access to education, protection, life skills, and opportunities to make informed decisions about their futures.
