As part of the Mekong IP3 – Inclusive Water Governance and Climate Resilience Project, and with financial support from the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) through Oxfam, PAfID is contributing to advancing disability inclusion by providing technical support on disability inclusion to national partner and provincial implementation partners in Kratie, Stung Treng, and Ratanakiri provinces. This support aims to ensure that program implementation is inclusive of people with disabilities and promotes their active participation.
Today in Kratie Province, PAfID, in collaboration with the provincial administration and relevant technical departments, organized the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), bringing together 104 participants, including people with disabilities, community leaders, and representatives from Kratie, Stung Treng, and Ratanakiri provinces.
The event was presided over by the Deputy Provincial Governor, who also serves as Chair of the Provincial Disability Action Council (PDAC), with active participation from the Provincial Departments of Social Affairs, Environment, and Water Resources and Meteorology. Meaningful dialogue and direct engagement with people with disabilities demonstrated strong provincial commitment and openness to collaboration.
This event reflects our shared commitment to promoting disability rights, active participation, and inclusive stakeholder engagement, ensuring that no one is left behind in climate resilience, water resource governance, and broader development efforts.
