កាលពីថ្ងៃទី២៨–២៩ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ ក្រុមការងារ អង្គការជនជាតិដើមភាគតិចកម្ពុជា (អ.ជ.ក) ក្រោមកម្មវិធី អ្នកនាំផ្លូវជនជាតិដើមភាគតិច (Indigenous Navigator) បានរៀបចំកិច្ចប្រជុំជាមួយសហគមន៍ជនជាតិដើមភាគតិចស្អូច នៅ ភូមិសំរុងលើ ឃុំសំរុង ស្រុកព្រៃនប់ ខេត្តព្រះសីហនុ ដោយមានការចូលរួមពីសមាជិកសហគមន៍សរុប ៣០នាក់ ក្នុងនោះមានស្ត្រី ១៨នាក់។

កិច្ចប្រជុំនេះមានគោលបំណងសិក្សា ស្រាវជ្រាវ និងចងក្រងព័ត៌មានអំពី ប្រវត្តិសហគមន៍ ចំណេះដឹងប្រពៃណី ទំនៀមទម្លាប់ ជំនឿ ការរស់នៅ មុខរបរ ជីវៈចម្រុះ និងការអាស្រ័យផលលើធនធានធម្មជាតិ ព្រមទាំងស្វែងយល់ពីបញ្ហាប្រឈមដែលសហគមន៍កំពុងជួបប្រទះ។

CIPO Organizes Community Meeting with Sa’och Indigenous Community to Document Traditional Knowledge and Community Data

On 28–29 September 2026, the Cambodian Indigenous Peoples Organization (CIPO), under the Indigenous Navigator program, organized a community meeting with the Sa’och Indigenous community in Samrong Leu Village, Samrong Commune, Prey Nob District, Preah Sihanouk Province. The meeting brought together 30 community members, including 18 women.

The meeting aimed to study, document, and compile information on the community’s history, traditional knowledge, customs, beliefs, livelihoods, occupations, biodiversity, and use of natural resources, while also understanding the challenges currently faced by the community.
As a result, the meeting contributed to the documentation of the community history and a community database covering livelihoods, culture, traditional knowledge, and key challenges faced by the Sa’och Indigenous community. This information can serve as a reference for understanding the community’s situation, identifying priorities and needs, and informing future planning and activities.

Community members also identified key priorities, including protecting burial forest areas and community resources, preventing land encroachment, strengthening the conservation of culture and traditional knowledge, and improving access to education and social services for the community.
Direct community participation is essential to ensuring that the documented data and knowledge reflect the voices, experiences, identity, and actual needs of the Sa’och Indigenous community.

CIPO would like to express its sincere appreciation to all community members for sharing their knowledge, experiences, and information, contributing to the documentation of community data, preservation of traditional knowledge, and strengthening of the voices of Indigenous Peoples.

៤. សក្តានុពលនៃកសិដ្ឋានបង្ហាញ ក្នុងការក្លាយជាកន្លែងសម្រាប់ ការរៀនសូត្រ ការចែករំលែកបទពិសោធន៍ និងការផ្សព្វផ្សាយការអនុវត្តល្អៗ ដល់កសិករ និងសហគមន៍ផ្សេងៗ។

កសិដ្ឋានបង្ហាញនេះក៏មានតួនាទីក្នុងការរួមចំណែកដល់ ការស្តារបរិស្ថាន ការកាត់បន្ថយផលប៉ះពាល់ពីការប្រែប្រួលអាកាសធាតុ និងការពង្រឹងជីវភាពគ្រួសារ។ រុក្ខជាតិព្រៃ និងដើមឈើព្រៃហូបផ្លែជាច្រើនប្រភេទដែលបានដាំ អាចផ្តល់ផលសម្រាប់ការប្រើប្រាស់ក្នុងគ្រួសារ និងបង្កើតចំណូលតាមរយៈការលក់ផលិតផលកសិកម្ម។

CIPO and Partners Conduct a Study Visit on Agroecological Practices in Ratanakiri

On 11 September 2026, the Cambodia Indigenous Peoples Organization (CIPO), Focus on the Global South (FGS), and staff from partner organizations, including the Khmer Indigenous People Association (KIPA), Indigenous Rights Active Members, and the Indigenous Agricultural Development in Cambodia (IADC), a total of 9 participants, including 4 women, conducted a practical study visit to an agroecology demonstration farm in Loun Village, Ratanakiri Province.

The visit aimed to strengthen the practical understanding of partner organization staff on agroecological practices, natural farming, agroecology, biodiversity conservation, and food security, while exploring how Indigenous community knowledge can be connected with sustainable livelihood development.

Key Results

Through the practical learning visit, participants gained knowledge and experience on:

1. Agroecological practices and natural farming at household and community levels.

2. Vegetable cultivation and the conservation of wild edible and native plants, which are important for community food security and livelihoods.

3. The role of biodiversity and Indigenous knowledge in strengthening community resilience.

4. The potential of demonstration farms as spaces for learning, experience sharing, and promoting good practices among farmers and communities.

The demonstration farm also contributes to environmental restoration, reducing the impacts of climate change, and strengthening household livelihoods. Various wild plants and fruit-bearing trees cultivated on the farm can provide food for household consumption and generate income through the sale of agricultural products.

Importantly, the visit highlighted a key challenge facing Indigenous communities: the decline of native and wild plant species that were traditionally found on farms and around household areas. Conserving and propagating these plants requires greater participation and support from relevant institutions to ensure that Indigenous knowledge, plant varieties, and biodiversity resources are preserved for future generations.

The visit also provided practical examples and field-based information that can be incorporated into case studies and helped strengthen partner organizations' capacity to connect research, community data, and practical experiences.

The study visit demonstrated that agro-ecology is not only an approach to farming, but also a means of conserving biodiversity, strengthening food security, protecting Indigenous knowledge, and supporting sustainable livelihoods for Indigenous communities.

CIPO and FGS Organize Review and Improvement Meeting on Action Research Reports

From 8 to 10 September 2026, the Cambodia Indigenous Peoples Organization (CIPO) and Focus on the Global South (FGS) organized a review and revision meeting on draft Action Research Reports in Ratanakiri Province.

The meeting brought together 12 participants, including 4 women, from five partner organizations, including Highlanders Association-Ratanakiri, Indigenous Rights Active Members (IRAM), Indigenous Peoples for Agriculture Development in Cambodia , FGS, and CIPO. The meeting focused on reviewing the quality of the reports, validating research data, and strengthening staff capacity in in-depth research methodologies and agroecology.

Key Objectives

The meeting focused on four key objectives:

- To review and revise the content of the reports to ensure clarity and consistency with the research data.

- To verify key sections of the reports to ensure alignment between the content and research findings.

- To strengthen understanding of the importance of primary field data, citations, and references in the preparation of research reports.

- To strengthen staff capacity in in-depth research methodologies and agroecology principles.

Key Results

Through the meeting, three partner organizations—HA, IRAM, and IADC—reviewed, revised, and improved their respective draft Action Research Reports to ensure that the content, data, and research findings were consistent and clearly presented.

Participants also gained practical experience in integrating primary community data, questionnaires, references, footnotes, and annexes into formal research reports.

In addition, partner organization staff strengthened their skills in:

- Editing and structuring research content

- Data analysis and interpretation

- Developing infographics and visual information

- Developing case studies and conducting in-depth research

- Using timelines, image galleries, references, and annexes

- Preparing reports that are clear, engaging, and accessible to readers

In particular, participants learned how to analyze issues through five key perspectives: economic, social, cultural, environmental, and policy, enabling their research to provide deeper analysis and present broader contexts and impacts.

Next Steps

The partner organizations HA, IRAM, and IADC will continue working with their respective teams to finalize their Action Research Report drafts in October 2026. This will be followed by a reflection meeting with the CIPO Management Committee in November 2026 in Phnom Penh.

The meeting demonstrates the continued commitment of CIPO and its partners to strengthening research quality, knowledge management, and staff capacity in order to produce evidence-based reports grounded in community data and in-depth analysis. These outputs will contribute to program development, advocacy, and sustainable development of Indigenous communities.
