🇰🇭 Welcoming the World to Cambodia!

Last night, the heart of Phnom Penh came alive at the iconic Wat Phnom as we officially kicked off the global GX Summit 2026.

As a co-organizer alongside the Ministry of Tourism, Phnom Penh City Hall and G Adventures, CATA is immensely proud to welcome nearly 700 international travel agents, global media, and industry changemakers to the Kingdom of Wonder.

The Wat Phnom “Community Exhibition: Temple Fair” set the stage for an unforgettable evening filled with vibrant Khmer traditional performances, local culinary delights, community showcases, and an incredible spirit of togetherness.

Key highlights from the opening ceremony:
▶️ Warm welcoming remarks from H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and H.E. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, highlighting Cambodia as a safe, warm, and world-class destination.
▶️ Inspiring words from Mr. Bruce P**n Tip, Founder of G Adventures, on the power of community tourism and using travel as a force for good.
▶️ A celebration of local artisans and social enterprises that embody the true heart of Cambodian hospitality.

This is just the beginning of a remarkable week exploring community-driven tourism across Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Together, we are showing the world that Cambodia offers experiences that go far beyond the temples

ខេត្តសៀមរាប៖ ទោះបីជាកត្តាអាកាសធាតុធ្វើឱ្យការមើលឃើញព្រះអាទិត្យរះពុំល្អនៅក្នុងខែកញ្ញាឆ្នាំ២០២៦ នេះ ក៏ការចូលរួមយ៉ាងច្រើនកុះកររបស់ភ្ញៀវទេសចរបានបង្ហាញពីភាពទាក់ទាញនៃព្រឹត្តិការណ៍ និងចំណាប់អារម្មណ៍ចំពោះបេតិកភណ្ឌវប្បធម៌កម្ពុជា។ ក្រៅពីការរង់ចាំទស្សនាថ្ងៃរះ ភ្ញៀវទេសចរក៏បានគយគន់សម្រស់អង្គរវត្ត ថតរូបអនុស្សាវរីយ៍ និងស្វែងយល់ពីតម្លៃស្ថាបត្យកម្ម និងអរិយធម៌ខ្មែរផងដែរ។

ក្នុងរយៈពេល ៣ថ្ងៃនៃមហាព្រឹត្តិការណ៍ «សមរាត្រីអង្គរ» ពីថ្ងៃទី២១ ដល់ថ្ងៃទី២៣ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ ភ្ញៀវទេសចរជាតិ និងទេសចរបរទេសសរុបប្រមាណ ៣៧ ៥៣៣នាក់ ក្នុងនោះទេសចរជាតិ និងបងប្អូនប្រជាពលរដ្ឋ ប្រមាណ ៣៥ ៣៩២នាក់ កើន ៧៣.៧៥% (ធៀបនឹងឆ្នាំ២០២៥), ទេសចរបរទេសមានចំនួនប្រមាណ ២ ១៤១នាក់ កើន ៦.២០% (ធៀបនឹងឆ្នាំ២០២៥) បានអញ្ជើញមកកាន់ប្រាសាទអង្គរវត្ត ដើម្បីរង់ចាំទស្សនាទិដ្ឋភាពព្រះអាទិត្យរះតាមអ័ក្សកណ្ដាលនៃប្រាសាទ។

Angkor Equinox Continues to Attract Large Numbers of Visitors

Siem Reap Province: Although weather conditions made the sunrise difficult to see during the Angkor Equinox in September 2026, the large turnout of visitors reflected the event’s appeal and continued interest in Cambodia’s cultural heritage. Beyond waiting for the sunrise, visitors admired Angkor Wat, took commemorative photographs, and learned about the value of Khmer architecture and civilization.

Over the three days of the Angkor Equinox, from 21 to 23 September 2026, approximately 37,533 domestic and international visitors came to Angkor Wat to witness the sunrise along the temple’s central axis. This total included approximately 35,392 domestic visitors and local residents, an increase of 73.75% compared with 2025, and approximately 2,141 international visitors, an increase of 6.20% compared with 2025.
