🐘 ដំរីអាស៊ី (Elephas maximus) ជួយថែរក្សាប្រព័ន្ធអេកូឡូស៊ីព្រៃឈើឱ្យមានសុខភាពល្អ។ ដំរីអាស៊ីជាប្រភេទសត្វដ៏សំខាន់បំផុតមួយជួយពង្រាយគ្រាប់ពូជរុក្ខជាតិទៅកាន់ទីឆ្ងាយតាមរយៈ លាមករបស់វា ដែលជួយដល់ការស្ដារព្រៃឈើឡើងវិញ និងគាំទ្រដល់ភាពចម្រុះនៃរុក្ខជាតិ។

នៅពេលសត្វដំរីធ្វើដំណើរឆ្លងកាត់ព្រៃក្រាស់ វាបង្កើតផ្លូវធម្មជាតិដែលអាចឲ្យសត្វព្រៃផ្សេងៗ ប្រើប្រាស់បាន។ សកម្មភាពរកចំណីរបស់វាជួយគ្រប់គ្រងការលូតលាស់រុក្ខជាតិ និង ទប់ស្កាត់មិនឲ្យ រុក្ខជាតិប្រភេទខ្លះលូតលាស់លើសលុបលើប្រភេទដ៏ទៃ។ ក្នុងរដូវប្រាំង ជម្រកតូចៗ និងថ្លុកទឹក ដែលសត្វដំរីបង្កើតឡើង អាចជួយសម្រួលដល់ការរស់នៅសម្រាប់សត្វជាច្រើនប្រភេទ។

🐘 The Asian Elephant (Elephas maximus) helps keep forest ecosystems healthy. As a keystone species, it carries seeds over long distances through its dung, helping forest regenerate and supporting a richer mix of plant life.

As elephants move through dense forests, they open natural pathways used by other wildlife. Their feeding shapes vegetation and helps prevent certain plant species from becoming too dominant. During the dry season, the small habitats and water access points they create can become lifelines for many animals.

When Asian Elephant disappear, forests lose part of the system that keeps them balanced.Plant diversity can decline. Other wildlife may lose habitat, food, and water they need to survive.

🤝 Protecting forests is one of clearest ways to reduce conflict between people and elephants, and to help conserve this endangered species for the future.

A total of 257 Cantor’s Giant Softshell Turtle hatchlings have been discovered on sand beaches along the Mekong River in Cambodia! 🐢

Recently in 2026, the Turtle Conservation Team led by the General Directorate of Fisheries of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, in collaboration with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Cambodia, discovered 14 Cantor’s Giant Softshell Turtle nests along the Mekong River.

So far, 12 of the 14 nests have successfully hatched 257 turtles, while conservation teams continue monitoring the remaining two nests.

Among the newly hatched turtles, 43 hatchlings safely entered the Mekong River naturally after hatching. The remaining 214 hatchlings were carefully transported to the Koh Kong Reptile Conservation Center (KKRCC), where they will receive proper care and protection before being released back into the wild. This process helps improve their chances of survival in nature.

The successful discovery of these nests and hatchlings is an important conservation achievement. It reflects the strong collaboration between the General Directorate of Fisheries, WCS Cambodia, local authorities, and fishing communities in protecting natural habitats and preventing fishery crimes along the Mekong River, especially illegal fishing activities.

We kindly appeal to all fishermen and community members not to catch Cantor’s Giant Softshell Turtles for food or trade, and to help protect their habitats.

During the 2026 breeding season, 40 Royal Turtle hatchlings successfully hatched in Cambodia! 🐢

This is one of the biggest achievements for Cambodia’s turtle conservation team this year, led by the Department of Fisheries Conservation of the General Directorate of Fisheries of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, in collaboration with Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Cambodia.

The 40 Southern River Terrapin hatchlings, locally known as the Royal Turtle, came from 50 eggs found in three nests discovered by the conservation team in February 2026 along the Sre Ambel River System in Koh Kong and Preah Sihanouk provinces.

The discovery brings new hope for the conservation of this Critically Endangered species. In 2025, conservation teams did not find any Royal Turtle nests in the wild.

All hatchlings were transported to the Koh Kong Reptile Conservation Center (KKRCC), where they will receive proper care before being released back into the wild. This helps increase their chances of survival in nature.

The successful discovery of the nests and hatchlings reflects the strong collaboration between the General Directorate of Fisheries, WCS Cambodia, local authorities, and fishing communities in protecting nesting beaches and habitats along the Sre Ambel River System, as well as preventing illegal activities, especially sand dredging and illegal fishing.

Their nest protection work gives this rare bird a better chance to breed safely, with support from the bird nest protection group, local authorities, the Mondulkiri and Kratie Provincial Departments of Environment, and WCS Cambodia’s conservation partners.

កាលពីដើមឆ្នាំនេះ ប្រអប់សំបុត្រសម្រាប់ផ្តល់មតិយោបល់និងបណ្តឹងតវ៉ា ត្រូវបានដំឡើងជាថ្មីនៅក្នុងភូមិចំនួន ៦០ ដែលជាភូមិគោលដៅនៅក្នុងគម្រោងរេដបូកតំបន់ទេសភាពភាគខាងជើង ស្ថិតក្នុងខេត្តព្រះវិហារ និងខេត្តឧត្តរមានជ័យ នៃប្រទេសកម្ពុជា។

ការកំណត់ទីតាំងសម្រាប់ដំឡើងប្រអប់សំបុត្រទាំងនេះក៏ត្រូវបានពិគ្រោះយោបល់ជាមួយសហគមន៍ ដើម្បីធានាបាននូវភាពងាយស្រួលក្នុងការប្រើប្រាស់។ ប្រអប់សំបុត្រសម្រាប់ផ្តល់មតិយោបល់និងបណ្តឹងតវ៉ានេះ គឺជាមធ្យោបាយមួយក្នុងចំណោមមធ្យោបាយរាយការណ៍ផ្សេងៗទៀត រួមមានការរាយការណ៍ផ្ទាល់មាត់ លេខទូរស័ព្ទទាន់ហេតុការណ៍ តេឡេក្រាម បណ្តាញសង្គមហ្វេសប៊ុក សារអេឡិចត្រូនិក និងគេហទំព័ររបស់គម្រោងរេដបូកនេះ។

គោលបំណងនៃយន្តការនេះគឺចូលរួមទប់ស្កាត់និងដោះស្រាយជម្លោះ ដែលអាចកើតមានអំឡុងពេលអនុវត្តគម្រោង និងបង្កើនប្រសិទ្ធភាពនៃការអនុវត្តគម្រោង តាមរយៈការទទួលមតិយោបល់ពីភាគីពាក់ព័ន្ធក្នុងគម្រោង។

ចាប់តាំងពីដើមឆ្នាំ២០២៦ ប្រអប់សំបុត្រត្រូវបានពិនិត្យនិងបើកជារៀងរាល់ខែក្នុងភូមិនីមួយៗ ដោយក្រុមការងារគម្រោង សហការជាមួយតំណាងសហគមន៍ និងអាជ្ញាធរមូលដ្ឋាន។ គិតត្រឹមខែមេសា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ នេះ គម្រោងបានទទួលករណីសរុបចំនួន ១៤ (១០ ករណីទទួលបានតាមរយៈប្រអប់សំបុត្រ) ពីភូមិចំនួន ៩ ដែលក្នុងនោះមាន ១០ ករណី ទាក់ទងនឹងសំណូមពរទៅកាន់គម្រោង និង ០៤ ករណី ជាការរាយការណ៍អំពីបទល្មើសធនធានធម្មជាតិ។

The boxes help ensure project efficiency, transparency, and accountability!

Earlier this year, feedback and grievance boxes were reinstalled in all 60 villages of the Northern Plains Landscape (NPL) REDD+ Project in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces of Cambodia. Communities were also consulted on where to place the boxes to make sure they are easy to access.

The feedback and grievance boxes are one of several reporting channels available to communities, alongside in-person reporting, phone hotlines, Facebook, Telegram, email, and the project website.

The Feedback and Grievance Redress Mechanism allows community members and other project stakeholders, especially Indigenous people and local communities, to share feedback, concerns, requests, or complaints about project activities. It also allows people to report natural resource crimes.

This process helps reduce possible conflicts during project implementation and helps improve the project through feedback from communities and stakeholders.

Since earlier this year, the boxes in each village have been checked every month by the project team, community representatives, and local authorities. As of April 2026, 14 cases from 9 villages had been received, including 10 cases submitted through the boxes. Among them, 10 cases requested project support and 4 cases reported natural resource crimes.
