នាថ្ងៃទី២៥ ខែសីហា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ អង្គការសត្វព្រៃ និងរុក្ខជាតិ (Fauna & Flora) សហការជាមួយមន្ទីរបរិស្ថានខេត្តព្រះសីហនុ និងសង្កាត់រដ្ឋបាលព្រៃឈើកំពង់សីលា បានរៀបចំ «កម្មវិធីអប់រំផ្សព្វផ្សាយ និងចែករំលែកស្តីពីការប្រើប្រាស់វិធីសាស្រ្ត និងឧបករណ៍កាត់បន្ថយជម្លោះ និងការរស់នៅដោយសុខដុមរមនារវាងមនុស្សនិងសត្វដំរី» នៅសហគមន៍ព្រៃឈើធម្មជាតិថ្មរូង ដោយមានអ្នកចូលរួមសរុប ៥៣នាក់។ កម្មវិធីនេះទទួលបានការគាំទ្រមូលនិធិពី Wildlife Warriors និង 3C Environmental Solutions ។

កម្មវិធីបានចែករំលែកចំណេះដឹង និងវិធីសាស្ត្រអនុវត្តជាក់ស្តែងអំពី៖

🐘 ការរស់នៅរួមគ្នារវាងមនុស្ស និងសត្វដំរីអាចធ្វើទៅបាន តាមរយៈចំណេះដឹង កិច្ចសហការរបស់សហគមន៍ និងការប្រើប្រាស់វិធីសាស្ត្រសុវត្ថិភាពសមស្រប។ គ្មានវិធីសាស្ដ្រមួយណាដែលមានប្រសិទ្ធភាព១០០%នោះទេ។ ដូចនេះ ការប្រើប្រាស់ឧបករណ៍ឆ្លាស់ឬផ្សំគ្នា កិច្ចសហការក្នុងសហគមន៍ ការបង្កើតប្រព័ន្ធផ្ដល់ព័ត៌មានជាមុន ការដាំដំណាំដែលមិនទាក់ទាញសត្វដំរី ព្រមទាំងស្វែងយល់ពីឥរិយាបថរបស់សត្វដំរី ជាជម្រើសដ៏ល្អ ដើម្បីការរស់នៅដោយសុខុមរមនារវាងមនុស្សនិងសត្វដំរីក្នុងតំបន់។

🐘 Raising awareness to reduce Human–Elephant Conflict (HEC) in the Thmor Roung community

On 25 August 2026, Fauna & Flora, in collaboration with the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Department of Environment and Kampong Seila Forestry Administration Cantonment, organised an "Awareness-raising and Knowledge-sharing session on Methods and Tools to reduce conflict and promote Living in Harmony between Human and Elephants" at the Thmor Rung Forestry Community Office. A total of 53 participants took part in the event, which was supported by Wildlife Warriors and 3C Environmental Solutions.

The session shared knowledge and practical approaches on:
🔹 Legal aspects of wildlife conservation and protection, as well as the behavior and social ecology of elephants.
🔹 Key causes and impacts of human-elephant conflict.
🔹 Non-harmful tools and methods to reduce crop damage and improve community safety.
🔹 The importance of community participation in wildlife and elephant conservation.
🔹 Safe practices and appropriate responses when encountering elephants in communities or agricultural areas.

The Asian Elephant Conservation Project team also demonstrated an early-warning and alert system that can help communities receive advance notice when elephants approach their cultivation areas.

🐘 People and elephants can live together peacefully when communities have the right knowledge, appropriate tools, and adequate support. There is no single tool that can prevent HEC 100% of the time. Therefore, combining different approaches—such as using multiple mitigation tools, strengthening community cooperation, establishing early-warning systems, planting crops that are less attractive to elephants, and understanding elephant behaviour—can provide better opportunities for safe and peaceful coexistence.

At the Battambang Provincial Administration Hall on August 13, Fauna & Flora (FFI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and the Battambang Provincial Administration, organized a consultation meeting with relevant departments, stakeholders, local authorities and local communities, totaling 33 participants. The meeting involved a detailed review and discussion of the draft boundaries proposed for the establishment of Phnom Banan (covering a proposed area of 707 hectares) and Phnom Sampov Kdaung (133 hectares) in Battambang Province as Natural Heritage Sites, which are areas of high biodiversity, socio-economic, and cultural values.

Following enthusiastic review and discussion, the meeting agreed on the proposed boundary drafts for the establishment of the Phnom Banan and Phnom Sampov Kdaung Natural Heritage Sites, with a small number of locations requested to be excised.
As a next step, the research, demarcation, and establishment working group for the Phnom Banan and Phnom Sampov Natural Heritage Sites will update the proposed boundary maps for both sites and organize a forum to clearly explain the objectives and benefits of establishing these heritage areas to local communities and relevant authorities.

Today, we celebrate the magnificent Asian elephant (𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙥𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙭𝙞𝙢𝙪𝙨) and remind ourselves of our responsibility to protect these gentle giants and the forests they call home.

In Cambodia, Asian elephants are an important part of our natural heritage and play a vital role in maintaining healthy forest ecosystems. Yet, they continue to face threats such as habitat loss and fragmentation, wildlife snares, and increasing human–elephant conflict (HEC).

💚 Protecting elephants means protecting forests, biodiversity, and the communities that share these landscapes with them!

On July 23–24, 2026, Fauna & Flora, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and the Koh Kong Provincial Administration, conducted a joint inspection and verification of the proposed site for establishing a Siamese crocodile habitat and genetic resource conservation zone at Stung Kampong Tajay–Trapang Peang within the Cardamom Mountains National Park, located in Dang Peng commune, Sre Ambel district. The mission saw participation from specialized provincial departments, district authorities, local communities, and conservation partner organizations.
The proposed establishment comprises two sites: the first is Stung Kampong Tajay, covering a proposed area of 1,940.60 hectares, and the second is Trapang Peang, spanning 780.00 hectares. Both locations feature suitable biological characteristics and natural habitats, encompassing rock formations, sandy beaches, rapids, aquatic vegetation, and deep pools, and serve as nesting grounds for Siamese crocodiles.
Following the field inspection of both sites, the meeting consulted and agreed to request the Provincial Department of Environment of Koh Kong to cooperate with local authorities and partner organizations to review and remap the area, as well as verify legal documents to ensure the successful establishment of this genetic conservation areas.

ចាប់ពីថ្ងៃទី ១០–១២ ខែកក្កដា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ អង្គការសត្វព្រៃ និងរុក្ខជាតិ បានចូលរួមក្នុង យុទ្ធនាការ «ពន្លកបៃតង» ជាមួយ ក្រសួងបរិស្ថាន ដើម្បីរួមចំណែកបង្កើនគម្របព្រៃឈើ ស្តារប្រភេទឈើដែលជិតផុតពូជ ព្រមទាំងលើកកម្ពស់ជីវភាពរស់នៅរបស់សហគមន៍ និងរួមចំណែកកាត់បន្ថយផលប៉ះពាល់ពីការប្រែប្រួលអាកាសធាតុ។

ក្នុងឱកាសនេះ អង្គការសត្វព្រៃ និងរុក្ខជាតិកម្ពុជា បានបង្ហាញពីសមិទ្ធផលការងារអភិរក្សជីវៈចម្រុះ និងឯកសារបោះពុម្ពផ្សាយនានា ដើម្បីចែករំលែកចំណេះដឹងអំពីធនធានធម្មជាតិដ៏សម្បូរបែបរបស់ប្រទេសកម្ពុជា និងសារៈសំខាន់នៃការអភិរក្សសម្រាប់មនុស្ស និងធម្មជាតិ។

យើងក៏មានមោទនភាពក្នុងការនាំយកផលិតផលពីដៃគូសហគមន៍ចំនួនពីរមកដាក់តាំងបង្ហាញផងដែរ៖

Together for Even Greener Cambodia!

From July 10–12, 2026, Fauna & Flora participated in the "Green Sprouts" campaign alongside the Ministry of Environment to contribute to increasing forest cover, restoring endangered tree species, improving community livelihoods, and helping to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

On this occasion, Fauna & Flora Cambodia showcased its biodiversity conservation achievements and various publications to share knowledge about Cambodia's rich natural resources and the importance of conservation for both people and nature.

We were also proud to showcase products from two of our community partners:
O'Tung Community Protected Area: showcasing non-timber forest products, including samrong (malva nut) fruit, cobra mushrooms, and honey, which contribute to improving community livelihoods while promoting sustainable management and use of forest resources. We also distributed 500 saplings of endangered tree species—including beng, thnong, krohnuong (rosewood), and samrong—all grown in the community-led nursery.

SHE Waves Koh Sdach: displaying products up-cycled from discarded fishing nets and plastic waste. By transforming this waste into valuable items like jewelry, they contribute to empowering women in marine and coastal conservation, reducing ghost gear (abandoned nets and fishing lines) and plastic debris in the ocean, and creating income opportunities for the Koh Sdach community.

We would like to thank the Ministry of Environment for organizing this meaningful event, and thank all the guests who visited our booth. Your visit was a crucial force in driving nature conservation and sustainable community development.

ថ្ងៃទី១៨ ខែមិថុនាឆ្នាំ ២០២៦ ក្រសួងបរិស្ថាន មន្ទីរបរិស្ថានខេត្តរតនគិរី អង្គការសត្វព្រៃ និងរុក្ខជាតិ រដ្ឋបាលស្រុកវើនសៃ រដ្ឋបាលឃុំកុកឡាក់ និងសហគមន៍តំបន់ការពារធម្មជាតិ អូរទុង សរុបចំនួន ៤៩ នាក់ (ស្រ្តី០៩នាក់) បានរួមគ្នាដាំកូនឈើបេង (ប្រភេទជិតផុតពូជ) ចំនួន១.០៥០ដើម សំរ៉ង៨០ដើម ព្រីង ៥០ដើម និងខ្នុរ ២០ដើម សរុបចំនួន ១.២០០ដើម លើផ្ទៃដី១,៧១ហិកតា ក្នុងដី សហគមន៍តំបន់ការពារធម្មជាតិអូរទុង នៃឧទ្យានជាតិវីរៈជ័យ។ សកម្មភាពនេះធ្វើឡើងក្នុងគោលបំណងបង្កើនគម្របព្រៃឈើក្នុងតំបន់ការពារធម្មជាតិ រួមចំណែកដល់ការអភិរក្ស និងស្តារប្រភេទឈើដែលជិតផុតពូជ ព្រមទាំងរួមចំណែកដល់ការលើកកម្ពស់ជីវភាពរស់នៅ និងការកាត់បន្ថយការប្រែប្រួលអាកាសធាតុ ផងដែរ។ សកម្មភាពនេះក៏ឆ្លើយតបទៅនឹងគោលនយោបាយ «យុទ្ធសាស្ត្របញ្ចកោណ» របស់រាជរដ្ឋាភិបាលកម្ពុជា ដែលផ្ដោតលើការកើនឡើងនៃគម្របព្រៃឈើឱ្យបាន ៦០% នៅឆ្នាំ២០៥០ និងការបេ្តជ្ញាចិត្តរបស់កម្ពុជាជាមួយសកលលោកក្នុងការអភិរក្ស និងការពារធនធានជីវៈចម្រុះ។ ក្រោយការដាំស្តារនេះ សហគមន៍ និងមន្រ្តីឧទ្យានុរក្ស នឹងការពារ ថែទាំ តាមដានត្រួតពិនិត្យ ដើម្បីធានាអត្រារស់ឲ្យបានខ្ពស់នូវកូនឈើដែលបានដាំទាំងនោះ។
ការដាំស្តារកូនឈើនេះ ត្រូវបានគាំទ្រផ្តល់ថវិកាដោយមូលនិធិ Franklinia។

On June 18, 2026, Ministry of Environment, Ratanakiri Provincial Department of Environment, Fauna & Flora, Veun Sai District Administration, Kok Lak Commune Administration, and the O'Tung Community Protected Area, totaling 49 participants (9 women), jointly planted 1,200 saplings on 1.71 hectares of land within the O'Tung Community Protected Area of Virachey National Park.
The planted tree saplings included 1,050 Beng trees (Afzelia xylocarpa, an endangered species), 80 malva trees, 50 Pring trees, and 20 Jackfruit trees. This planting aims to increase forest cover within the protected area, contributes to the conservation and restoration of endangered tree species, to the improvement of local livelihoods and the mitigation of climate change.
This activity also aligns with the Royal Government of Cambodia's "Pentagonal Strategy," which focuses on increasing forest cover to 60% by 2050, as well as Cambodia's global commitment to the conservation and protection of biodiversity. Following this reforestation effort, the community and rangers will protect, maintain, and monitor the site to ensure a high survival rate for the planted saplings.

A new, exciting accomplishment for Koh Sdach!

Fauna & Flora Cambodia, in close partnership with the local authorities, is proud to introduce a first community-based recycling hub in the Koh Sdach archipelago.
Officially launched on June 09, 2026, the hub sits within Koh Sdach Commune. This establishment marks a groundbreaking step in Fauna & Flora’s collaborative effort to diversify local livelihoods opportunities, promote gender inclusion in marine conservation, and safeguard the ocean from fishing nets and plastic pollution.

Operated by the SHE Waves Koh Sdach, the hub is open to the general public. It also features a walk-in store where local communities and visitors can learn more about the work and purchase unique, handcrafted accessories made from recycled plastics and end-of-life fishing nets/ropes collected from local fishers and Koh Sdach shoreline. Special thanks to Thais Fernandes for her creative and thoughtful design of the recycling hub.
