អង្គការ WWF-កម្ពុជា ក្នុងកិច្ចសហការជាមួយក្រសួងបរិស្ថាន ក្រសួងកសិកម្ម រុក្ខាប្រមាញ់ និងនេសាទ រដ្ឋបាលខេត្តមណ្ឌលគិរី អង្គការសត្វព្រៃ និងរុក្ខជាតិ Fauna & Flora អាជ្ញាធរមូលដ្ឋាន និងសហគមន៍ នឹងលែងក្រពើភ្នំពូជសុទ្ធចំនួន ១០ ក្បាល (Crocodylus siamensis) ចូលទៅក្នុងទន្លេស្រែពក ស្ថិតក្នុងដែនជម្រកសត្វព្រៃស្រែពក នាថ្ងៃទី២២ ខែឧសភា ខាងមុខនេះ បន្ទាប់ពីពិគ្រោះយោបល់ និងទទួលបានការយល់ព្រមពីភាគីពាក់ព័ន្ធនៅគ្រប់កម្រិត រួមទាំងសហគមន៍ជនជាតិដើមភាគតិច និងសហគមន៍មូលដ្ឋាន។ កម្មវិធីលែងក្រពើភ្នំនេះ គឺជាជំហានដ៏សំខាន់មួយក្នុងកិច្ចខិតខំប្រឹងប្រែងរបស់កម្ពុជា ដើម្បីស្តារប្រភេទក្រពើដែលជិតផុតពូជបំផុតនៅលើពិភពលោក និងពង្រឹងការអភិរក្សប្រព័ន្ធអេកូឡូស៊ីទឹកសាបនៅក្នុងតំបន់ទេសភាពខ្ពង់រាបភាគខាងកើត។

WWF-Cambodia, in collaboration​ with the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Mondulkiri Provincial Administration, Fauna & Flora, local authorities, and community partners, will release 10 purebred Siamese crocodiles (Crocodylus siamensis) into the Srepok River within the Srepok Wildlife Sanctuary on 22 May, 2026 following consultations and consents from different levels of stakeholders, including Indigenous Peoples and Local Community. The release marks an important
milestone in Cambodia’s efforts to recover one of the world’s critically endangered species and strengthen freshwater ecosystem conservation in Eastern Plains landscape.

Siamese crocodiles play a vital role in maintaining healthy and balanced freshwater ecosystems. Protecting them also means protecting the rivers, wetlands, and biodiversity that communities and all of us depend on.

A major milestone for conservation in Cambodia

The official completion of land registration for the Mekong River Dolphin Management Area (Core Zone 2) in Stung Treng Province marks an important step forward in securing a safer future for the Mekong dolphins and protecting Cambodia’s natural heritage.

As a long-term partner of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, WWF-Cambodia is proud to support collaborative conservation efforts alongside the Fisheries Administration, local authorities, river guards, and communities. Together, these efforts have contributed to the continued recovery of the Mekong dolphin population in recent years.

Securing and protecting critical habitats is essential to ensuring that the “smile of the Mekong” continues to inspire future generations.

ឯកឧត្តម ជា សំអាង រដ្ឋលេខធិការក្រសួងបរិស្ថានបានលើកឡើងថា៖ «ការអភិវឌ្ឍហេដ្ឋារចនាសម្ព័ន្ធប្រកបដោយចីរភាព និងការអភិរក្សជីវៈចម្រុះ ត្រូវដើរទន្ទឹមគ្នា សម្រាប់អនាគតកម្ពុជា»។

សម្រាប់ការងារបន្ទាប់ ភាគីពាក់ព័ន្ធទាំងអស់បានប្តេជ្ញាពង្រឹងកិច្ចសហការ និងបញ្ចូលការពិចារណាអំពីផលប៉ះពាល់នានានៃជីវៈចម្រុះទៅក្នុងការរៀបចំផែនការហេដ្ឋារចនាសម្ព័ន្ធ ដើម្បីគាំទ្រការតភ្ជាប់ប្រព័ន្ធអេកូឡូស៊ីរយៈពេលវែង និងការអភិវឌ្ឍប្រកបដោយចីរភាព។

Over three days, WWF-Cambodia and partners, in collaboration with the IUCN Asian Elephant Transport Working Group and the Ministry of Environment, brought together government agencies, conservation organizations, infrastructure experts, and researchers to advance wildlife-friendly infrastructure and elephant conservation in Cambodia and across Asia. The workshop resulted in key recommendations, including stronger cross-sector coordination, improved ecological data and monitoring, and the identification of priority wildlife corridors and pilot landscapes.

H.E. Chea Sam Ang, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Environment, highlighted that: “Sustainable infrastructure development and biodiversity conservation must go hand in hand for Cambodia’s future.”

Moving forward, partners committed to strengthening collaboration and integrating biodiversity considerations into infrastructure planning to support long-term ecosystem connectivity and sustainable development.
