Smile Cambodia Smile Cambodia is a licensed NGO that provides free surgery to children born with facial deformities.

Smile Cambodia was set up in 2002 as Operation Smile Cambodia under the wings of Operation Smile International USA. Its main objective being to provide free cleft lip and palate repair surgeries to children and reduce the occurrence of cleft lips and palates in Cambodia. In February 2015 the activities of Operation Smile Cambodia ceased. Smile Cambodia was then set up in July 2015 as an independen

t charity registered in Cambodia and is now part of the Smile Asia alliance. Smile Cambodia continues with its mission to create awareness and provide free medical assistance to not only the cleft lip and palate community in Cambodia but also those with other deformities including microtia, burn contracture, tumours and polysyndactyly, among others. Smile Cambodia is fully volunteer based and relies on the generosity of its supporters. HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Our Cambodia - Malaysia Friendship Surgical Mission in partnership with Embassy of Malaysia Phnom Penh, Cleft Lip And Palate Association of Malaysia, Smile Asia and Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital successfully concluded on 23 July 2026.

A total of 80 patients were screened, with 55 surgical procedures carried out, including 7 patients who were treated for serious burns. In an exciting new initiative to expand the scope of multi-disciplinary care, 24 cleft patients also received specialised dental treatment and speech therapy to improve their long-term quality of life.

Thank you to all for your generous support which is instrumental to the success of our inaugural Cambodia-Malaysia Friendship Surgical Mission and also our first mission that incorporated dental treatment for our cleft patients.
