The 5th Cambodia Travel Match 2026 Attracts Major Travel Agency Delegates from Myanmar, Nepal, and the Philippines to Meet with Cambodian Tourism Companies and Establish Numerous Tourism Collaborations

H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, presided over and delivered the opening speech at the 5th Cambodia Travel Match 2026 Mini-Series (5th CTM 2026 Mini-Series). The event was organized by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Cambodia Chapter, with the participation of H.E. HUOT Hai, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh and representative of H.E. KHUONG Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh; Neak Oknha LUU Meng, Co-Chair of the Tourism Working Group; Oknha DIN Somethearith, President of the Cambodia Tourism Federation (CTF); Dr. THOURN Sinan, Chairman of the PATA Cambodia Chapter; representatives of the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB); representatives of the Cambodia Hotel Association (CHA); as well as national and international delegates and tourism operators from Myanmar, Nepal, and the Philippines, alongside international buyers and Cambodian tourism service providers, and journalists totaling over 130 participants at the Crowne Plaza Phnom Penh by IHG.

On this occasion, the Minister extended a warm welcome to the delegations from Myanmar, Nepal, and the Philippines, as well as to all attendees. He expressed high praise and appreciation to the PATA Cambodia Chapter as the lead organizer, together with the Cambodia Tourism Federation (CTF), the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB), and all relevant partners for organizing this international event. The initiative aims to enhance public-private sector cooperation, expand business opportunities, and promote Cambodia's tourism potential to international markets.

Furthermore, the Minister highlighted that the CTM 2026 Mini-Series has become an essential tourism trade platform aligned with the priority policies of the Royal Government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The initiative focuses on developing the tourism sector by strengthening public-private partnerships, increasing access to international tourism markets, and promoting sustainable tourism development in Cambodia. It serves as a practical, high-yield platform connecting international buyers with Cambodian tourism service providers to expand business networks, exchange experiences, and share updates on regional and global tourism developments. This initiative enhances Cambodia's competitiveness in the international tourism market, expands its presence into new markets, and supports local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and regional tourism operators by providing them with opportunities to access global markets.

In addition, the Minister invited international tourists, visitors, and investors to visit and explore Cambodia's rich potential with confidence and peace of mind. He encouraged them to experience the warm hospitality famously known as the "Cambodian Smile" and the friendliness of the Cambodian people, which serve as Cambodia's unique identity.

It is worth noting that the Cambodia Travel Match 2026 Mini-Series (CTM 2026 Mini-Series) is executed through close collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism, the Cambodia Tourism Federation (CTF), and the PATA Cambodia Chapter as the Lead Organizer. It serves as a year-round strategic destination marketing campaign under the theme "Cambodia to the World," designed to create B2B platforms between international buyers and Cambodian suppliers, expand markets, attract tourists and investments, and promote Cambodia as a diversified and competitive tourism destination on the global stage.

Ministry of Tourism Holds Meeting to Review Draft Sub-Decree on Tourism Statistics Management

Phnom Penh: H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, chaired a meeting to review and provide input on the draft Sub-Decree on Tourism Statistics Management. The meeting aimed to examine, revise, and further develop the draft to ensure that it is comprehensive and consistent with the Law on Tourism, the Law on Statistics, and other relevant legal instruments before submitting it to the Office of the Council of Ministers for further review in accordance with established procedures.

This important meeting was attended by Their Excellencies, Lok Chumteavs, senior officials, directors-general, department directors, and relevant technical officials.

On the occasion, H.E. Minister instructed the technical working group to review and revise certain provisions to ensure their conformity with the applicable laws and legal instruments, with a view to submitting the draft to the Office of the Council of Ministers by the end of September 2026.

Part-time work outside government hours

With the authorization of the Standing Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party Central Youth Wing, H.E. HUOT Hak, Member of the Central Committee and Head of the Secretariat of the Central Youth of Cambodian People’s Party, chaired a working meeting with Excellencies, Lok Chumteavs, Drs., ladies and gentlemen serving as heads and representatives of various sections, as well as the ad hoc working groups under the Central Youth of Cambodian People’s Party.

The meeting reviewed and discussed preparations for the “Meeting to Review the Work Achievements of the Central Youth of Cambodian People’s Party for the First Half of 2026 and Set Directions for Future Work,” scheduled for the morning of Saturday, 26 September 2026, at the 7 January Palace. The meeting will be held under the high presidency of Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei HUN Manet, Vice President of the Cambodian People’s Party and President of the Central Youth of Cambodian People’s Party.

The Ministry of Tourism and METFONE Launch the “My Village, My Food” Campaign to Promote Cambodia’s Tourism Destinations Through Local Cuisine

H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Tourism and METFONE to officially launch the “My Village, My Food” campaign, which aims to promote Cambodia’s tourism destinations by showcasing the unique local cuisines of different regions across the Kingdom. The ceremony was attended by H.E. and Lok Chumteav leaders of the Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Cao Manh Duc, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of METFONE, and his colleagues; officials from all departments and provincial departments of tourism; representatives from universities; professors and students; as well as content creators, with more than 200 participants in attendance at the Ministry of Tourism.

During the ceremony, H.E. the Minister warmly welcomed Mr. Cao Manh Duc and METFONE for supporting the Ministry’s campaign, in line with the sound and pragmatic leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, who has encouraged Cambodian youth to use social media platforms to promote the tourism potential of their own hometowns. H.E. the Minister also expressed his appreciation and gratitude for METFONE’s innovative, technology-driven initiative to help promote Khmer culinary identity and Cambodia’s tourism potential.

Through this collaboration, the Ministry of Tourism and METFONE have jointly produced seven short videos under the “My Village, My Food” campaign, featuring signature local dishes from the provinces of Kampot, Kep, Preah Sihanouk, Siem Reap, Battambang, Pursat, and Takeo. The videos will be released progressively through October 2026 across the social media platforms of the Ministry of Tourism, provincial departments of tourism, METFONE, and participating content creators (influencers).

In addition, H.E. the Minister emphasized that both parties will continue to strengthen and expand their partnership through new areas of cooperation that are closer, more effective, and results-oriented, with the shared goal of promoting Cambodia’s tourism potential and culinary heritage to domestic and international audiences.

The Royal Embassy of Cambodia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland participated in the annual CelebrAsia 2026, held from 11 to 13 September 2026 at Battersea Power Station in London.

The exhibition brought together a large number of embassies, companies and businesses from various ASEAN countries to showcase and promote their respective products and cultures. The event featured a wide range of products, including food, souvenirs and other goods, alongside a diverse programme of artistic and cultural performances.

On this occasion, the Royal Embassy of Cambodia showcased and promoted a range of Cambodian processed agricultural products and handicrafts, including rice, whole peppercorns, cashew nuts, dried fruits, and various spices and seasonings. The Embassy also displayed a selection of Cambodian cultural and artistic items and souvenirs, including the Taste of Angkor cookbook, Khmer krama, souvenir pins, keychains, Cambodian coins, Apsara sculptures and other traditional items. Beyond this, there was also a parade by the Cambodian community living in Britain, showcasing beautiful traditional Khmer attire.

The Cambodian products on display attracted considerable interest from visitors and were well received for their quality, taste and authenticity, with tens of thousands of visitors attending the exhibition.

Her Excellency Ambassador TUOT Panha, Ambassador together with officials of the Embassy, also attended the official opening ceremony of CelebrAsia 2026 on 11 September 2026.
