⚖️ 𝗨𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗲́𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝗹'𝗢𝗡𝗨 𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹'𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲̀𝘀 𝗮𝘂𝘅 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗱'𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 !

Le 2 septembre dernier, les Nations unies ont adopté leur 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲̀𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲́𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗲́𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘅 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗱'𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 : fauteuils roulants, prothèses, appareils auditifs, lunettes, logiciels de synthèse vocale...

Ces équipements sont essentiels pour permettre à des millions de personnes handicapées, âgées ou présentant des limitations fonctionnelles de vivre de manière autonome. Pourtant, dans de nombreux pays à faible revenu, les besoins restent couverts à seulement 𝟯 𝗮̀ 𝟭𝟬 %.

Dans les pays touchés par des crises, comme le Yémen ou la Syrie, cet accès est d'autant plus crucial : de nombreuses personnes vivent avec un handicap à la suite de blessures liées aux conflits, sans pouvoir accéder à une prothèse ou un fauteuil roulant, ni aux services nécessaires à leur usage et à leur entretien.

Cette résolution, bien que non contraignante, 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗘́𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗮̀ 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲̀𝘀, à mobiliser des ressources, à soutenir la recherche et l'innovation, et à associer pleinement les personnes concernées et la société civile à l'élaboration des politiques.

Pour nous, elle constitue un levier supplémentaire pour interpeller gouvernements et bailleurs dans les pays où nous intervenons. Nous en suivrons la mise en œuvre, aux côtés de nos partenaires, pays par pays.

On 8 September 2026, Handicap International (HI) conducted a community awareness-raising session in Trapaing Preah Commune, Prey Chhor District, Kampong Cham Province, focusing on the importance of:

👧👦 Supporting Children with Disabilities (CwD)

The session brought together 67 community participants, creating an opportunity to raise awareness, share knowledge, and strengthen community support for children with disabilities.

📚 Celebrating National Literacy Day 2026 in Ratanakiri! 🇰🇭

On 7–8 September 2026, Handicap International (HI) proudly participated in National Literacy Day 2026 in Ratanakiri Province, under the theme:

🌍 “Literacy Promotes Inclusive Quality Education”

Ratanakiri, home to some of Cambodia’s richest ethnic and linguistic diversity, provides a meaningful setting to reflect on what inclusive education truly requires in practice.

Inclusive education goes beyond access to school. It means creating learning environments where every child - regardless of disability, ethnicity, language, gender, or background - can participate, learn, and thrive. It also means ensuring that schools, teachers, learning materials, communication, and facilities are accessible and responsive to diverse needs.

Through its participation, HI reaffirms its commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable quality education, working alongside communities, schools, local authorities, and partners to help ensure that no learner is left behind.

🤝 Literacy is a pathway to inclusion. Education is a right for everyone.

Together, let’s build education systems where diversity is valued, barriers are removed, and every learner has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
