The Together Build Community Dignity (TBCD) Project, supported by Baptist World Aid (BWA), organized an awareness campaign on "Promoting Awareness of Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion" in Koh Pnov Village, Ou Svay Commune, Ou Svay Saenchey District, Stung Treng Province. The main objectives of this program were to raise awareness of creating violence-free households, promote equal labor rights between women and men, and encourage youth, particularly youth with disabilities by empowering them with greater opportunities and support. Furthermore, the event aimed to foster social connections and narrow the gender gap within the community. Participants also joined in promoting environmental sustainability by reducing plastic use and supporting local income generation through making traditional Khmer steamed rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves (Ansom). The activity was a great success, with community members expressing their delight and gratitude for being part of the event.

On September 21, 2026, the TfC team under the TBCD project of Ponleu Ney Kdey Sangkhum (PNKS) co-organized an awareness-raising forum on "Illegal Fishing Offenses," held at Ibu Primary School in Ibu Village, O’Svay Commune, Borei O’Svay Sen Chey District, Stung Treng Province.
The forum saw active participation from local authorities, PNKS representatives, the TfC team, community representatives, and local residents, totaling 83 participants (47 women). The objective was to increase local awareness regarding the importance of protecting and conserving fishery resources, understand the damages caused by illegal fishing, and encourage community reporting and collective prevention.

Furthermore, in an effort to contribute to combating climate change, the TfC team prepared their own homemade refreshments for the gathering. Participants were delighted to receive such delicious, handmade treats. A sincere thank you to the TfC group for making this thoughtful initiative happen!

គម្រោងសម្លេងព្រៃឡង់របស់អង្គការពន្លឺនៃក្តីសង្ឃឹមបានសហការជាមួយមន្ត្រីបច្ចេកទេសកសិកម្មឃុំ បានរៀបចំវគ្គបណ្តុះបណ្តាពីការបណ្តុះផ្សិត ដល់កសិករ ភូមិកាំងក្ងោក កំពង់ប៉ាង កាំងចាម និង ភូមិដូង។ ការបណ្តុះបណ្តាលនេះបានបង្រៀនទ្រឹស្តី ២៥ភាគរយ អនុវត្តជាក់ស្តែង ៧៥ ភាគរយ វគ្គបណ្តុះផ្សិត មាន៦ដំណាក់កាល រហូតមកពេលនេះ គឺដំណាក់កាលទី៣ ហើយនឹងបញ្ចប់នៅក្នុង៣ដំណាក់កាលទៀត ។ កសិករបានចូលរួមសរុប ១៨ នាក់ស្រី ១៧នាក់ ហើយពួកគាត់បានចូលរួមតំាងដំណាក់កាលដំបូង និងរហូតដល់ចប់វគ្គបណ្តុះបណ្តាល។ ជំនាញបណ្តុះផ្សិតនេះគឺថ្មីសម្រាប់គម្រោងតាមរយៈការអង្កេត ឃើញថា កសិករចូលរួមវគ្គបណ្តុះផ្សិតនេះពួកគាត់ចូលរួមសកម្មទាំងគ្នា សង្ឃឹមថាពួកគាត់នឹងចំណេះជំនាញនេះ បង្កើតមុខរបររកប្រាក់ចំណូលបន្ថែម ។

In collaboration with the commune agricultural technical officer, Somleng Prey Lang project under PNKS organization in Stung Treng organized a mushroom cultivation training for farmers from Kang Kngok, Kampong Pang, Kang Cham, and Doung villages. The course is structured with 25% theoretical instruction and 75% hands-on practical application across six stages; to date, participants have completed Stage 3, with three stages remaining. A total of 18 farmers (17 females) have actively participated from the initial phase and will continue through to completion. While mushroom cultivation is a new initiative for the project, observations indicate high engagement among all participants, with the expectation that they will leverage these skills to establish micro-enterprises and generate supplementary household income.

Somleng Prey Lang project in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Rural Development, conducted a training course on well maintenance and repair for the core Well Management Committee. Held on September 1, 2026, at Anlong Sa'om Pagoda in Anlong Chrey Commune, Thala Barivat District, Stung Treng Province, the session was facilitated by Mr. Soy Kea and Mr. Nuth Bora from the Department of Rural Development. The training brought together 50 participants (17 females, including 2 men with disabilities) from three target villages: Anlong Chrey, Morn, and Anlong Sa'om.

On August 28, under the Together We Build Community Dignity (TBCD) project supported by Baptist World Aid Australia (BWAA), the Together for Community (TfC) group convened a consultative meeting with teachers, the School Management Committee (SMC), the community, and local authorities to organize an educational awareness forum on "Promoting the Quality and Value of Education." The forum aimed to encourage students to pursue their studies diligently while raising awareness among parents and guardians about the critical value of education in supporting their children's learning, successfully supported with study materials from PNKS alongside joint financial contributions from the school and local authorities.

On 14 August, the Together Build Community Dignity (TBCD) Project, supported by Baptist World Aid (BWA), conducted a training on "Promoting Household Responsibility in Maintaining Hygiene, Waste Management, and Family Health" for Village Health Support Group (VHSG) members across 9 villages in Borey O'Svay Sen Chey District, Stung Treng Province. The training aimed to enhance participants' understanding and practices regarding clean and safe living spaces, proper waste disposal, handwashing with soap at critical times, safe water usage, and action planning for cascading health promotion to local households. The training concluded successfully with active participation and strong commitment from VHSG volunteers to improve grassroots community health and hygiene.

From July 15 to the morning of July 17, 2026, a refresher training workshop on "Community Development Initiatives" was successfully held at PNKS Organization's office in Stung Treng Province.

The sessions brought together 19 dedicated participants, including project staff from the TBCD Project, Somlang Prey Lang (Stung Treng and Preah Vihear), and community interns.

Facilitated by the PNKS Organization, this workshop focused on two core pillars:

🤝 Empowering Communities: Strengthening staff capacity on tools that enable our partner community groups to take full ownership of mobilizing both internal and external resources to collectively solve grassroots challenges.

📋 Enhancing Governance: Refining mechanisms and operational principles to support community groups in independently and transparently managing small-grant budgets.

By investing in our teams, we are fostering sustainable, community-led solutions driven directly by local people!
