🌅 Every morning, our team gears up with life jackets, specialized cleanup tools, and boats to reach places that are inaccessible by land. Navigating through canals, riverbanks, and floating waste hotspots, they work tirelessly to remove plastic pollution before it can travel further downstream and into our oceans.

July marks the beginning of Cambodia’s rainy season. As water levels rise and flooding occurs, large volumes of plastic waste are washed from riverbanks, communities, and connected canals into our waterways. Many of these trash accumulation points can only be accessed by boat, making water-based cleanup operations essential.

It’s the reality of the challenge and the dedication of our frontline team in protecting the Mekong, Tonlé Sap, and Bassac Rivers from plastic pollution.

🙏 Special thanks to UNDP Cambodia, and partners for its logistical and financial support, enabling these critical cleanup operations and helping keep our rivers cleaner and healthier for people and nature.

🚤 To increase our impact, we need additional cleanup boats and equipment to reach more polluted hotspots, respond faster during the rainy season, and prevent even more plastic from entering the ocean.
