CHC is governed by an independent Board of Directors. CHC has official registration with the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and has tax-exempt status in the U.S. CHC works to improve the wellbeing and health status of the general population in Cambodia who are suffering from TB, MDR-TB, HIV/AIDS, new emerging infectious and non-infectious diseases, Health Systems Strengthening, Social
Health Protection and other priority health needs regardless race, age, s*x, religion, belief and/or political affiliation. Through community mobilization and collaboration with the MoH departments and services, CHC aims to help the poor in Cambodia to live with dignity and good health. CHC is also linked to the Global Health Committee which is located in the USA, an expansion of CHC for fund raising, technical assistance, and basic research conducted at the Immune Disease Institute, a Harvard Medical School. The Research component aims to explore new knowledge, to improve health care services delivery. Through this linkage, CHC has provided technical and management support to the development of MDR-TB and possible use of the CHC Cambodian C-DOTS model for current development of C-DOTS in Ethiopia. CHC has received funds from donors in country and outside the country. CHC focuses on the Community Tuberculosis DOTS, HIV/AIDS Care, MDR-TB (with holistic approach), research, Reproductive and Child Health, Community HIV/AIDS Awareness, Health Equity Fund and Social Health Protection (MHI, HEF). CHC has collaborated with the Ministry of Health (MOU with MoH), National TB Program, National Center for HIV/AIDS Dermatology and STD, Provincial Health Departments, Operational Districts and Health centers in 9 provinces and one municipality. The provinces CHC is working in are: Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, Siem Reap, Prey Veng, Kampong Cham, Svay Rieng, Kampot, Kandal, Battambang, and Phnom Penh. The Global Fund (GFATM) is one of our main donors: TB Round 5, TB Round 7 and HIV Round 9.
