🎓 From the First Class to the Final One...
Every MPM student begins their journey from a different starting point.

Some are project directors, some are site engineers, consultants, or business owners. Yet they all share one common goal: to strengthen their project management capabilities and advance their careers.

Over the past year, classroom discussions, team assignments, engaging sessions with international faculty, and study visits have become memorable milestones in their learning journey.

This weekend, MPM19 officially completed its final classroom session and is now entering the last stage of the program—the Project Report.

At this stage, students apply the knowledge and skills they have gained throughout the program to address real-world challenges in construction project management before completing their master's degree.

We would like to congratulate all MPM19 students and wish them every success in completing their Project Reports. May this achievement open new opportunities and milestones in their professional careers.

Since its launch in 2007, the Professional Master of Project Management in Construction (MPM) at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has been committed to developing project management professionals for Vietnam's construction industry.

In ISO 9001:2015 Implementation in Construction, MPM19 students developed a solid understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and learned how international quality standards can be effectively applied to construction projects to improve organizational performance and customer satisfaction.

🏗️ The module provided practical insights into:

✅ Understanding the key principles and requirements of ISO 9001:2015

✅ Developing and implementing Quality Management Systems (QMS) for construction organizations

✅ Differentiating the roles of Quality Management, Quality Assurance (QA), and Quality Control (QC)

✅ Applying risk-based thinking and the PDCA continuous improvement cycle

✅ Managing the Cost of Quality to reduce defects, rework, and improve project productivity

💡 Through practical construction examples and case studies, students learned that quality should be planned and managed throughout the entire project lifecycle—from design and procurement to construction and project handover. The module also demonstrated how systematic quality management contributes to organizational competitiveness and sustainable project success.

🎓 ISO 9001:2015 Implementation in Construction equips students with internationally recognized quality management principles, enabling them to establish effective management systems, improve project performance, and consistently deliver construction projects that meet client and stakeholder expectations.

🏗️ 𝐂𝐄𝟕𝟎.𝟗𝟎𝟏𝟎 – 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

In Construction Business and Project Simulation, MPM19 students experienced the challenges of managing a construction company through the AROUSAL Simulation platform, guided by experienced AIT faculty members.

🏗️ The module provided practical insights into:

✅ Managing and operating a construction business in a competitive environment
✅ Developing bidding strategies, project pricing, and business decision-making
✅ Controlling project schedule, cost, quality, and resource allocation
✅ Managing construction company finances, cash flow, profitability, and operational performance
✅ Organizing human resources, company structure, and project staffing

💡 Through realistic business simulation scenarios, students assumed the role of executive management and made strategic decisions related to marketing, tendering, construction operations, finance, and human resources. The course demonstrated how management decisions directly influence project and business performance.

🎓 Construction Business and Project Simulation enables students to integrate the knowledge gained throughout the MPM program and apply it to the operation of a construction company in a realistic simulation environment.

On Thursday, 4 June 2026, MPM19 students had the opportunity to participate in an industry field visit to a Precast Concrete Manufacturing Plant and a Metro Rail Project in Thailand.

🏭 At the precast factory, students gained valuable insights into:

✅ Industrialized construction and precast production processes

✅ Quality control and manufacturing management

✅ Logistics, transportation, and installation planning

✅ The role of prefabrication in improving productivity and project performance

🚆 At the metro project site, students explored:

✅ Large-scale infrastructure project delivery

✅ Construction planning and site coordination

✅ Safety, quality, and stakeholder management

✅ Real-world challenges in urban transportation development

💡 The field visit provided a unique opportunity for students to bridge classroom knowledge with industry practice, while gaining first-hand exposure to modern construction technologies and project management approaches in Thailand.

In Applied Project Management in Power-Plant Projects, MPM19 students learned from Dr. Sakul Pochanart, an experienced expert in the development and management of large-scale power and energy projects.

⚡ The module provided practical insights into:

✅ Planning and scheduling power plant projects

✅ Managing engineering design, equipment procurement, and quality control

✅ Coordinating complex systems including turbines, boilers, electrical, control, and transmission systems

✅ Managing construction, testing & commissioning, and achieving Commercial Operation Date (COD)

💡 Through real-world case studies, students gained a deeper understanding of the unique challenges of power plant developments, where risk management, multidisciplinary coordination, and milestone control play a critical role in project success.
