Building a Safer Future: Safe Sister Program Welcomes Batch 2 🎉🌟

Last week our staff and peer mentor held a welcome orientation to the newest safe sisters to the Safe Sister program.

Throughout the session, they gained a deeper understanding of the AusCam Freedom Project and our core programs. More importantly, they now know that they will become a part of us, whose mission is to prevent and protect other people, especially girls to be safe and free from any kind of exploitation and trafficking.

To every new Safe Sister: you are not just joining a program. You are becoming protectors. What you learn here doesn't stop with you, it equips you to safeguard the girls around you and stand up for those who cannot yet speak for themselves. When a girl comes to learn, she doesn't just change her own future, she changes the futures of all the girls who come after her.

Let’s give them a round of applause for their new journey in this program and we look forward to seeing the plans they have ahead. 👏

Behind every safe space is a team that takes responsibility seriously.

Yesterday, our AusCam Freedom Project team facilitated a training for the Girl's Leadership Council (GLC) on our Child Protection Policy. The session covered the core safeguards every staff member must follow, what to do, what not to do, and the clear reporting flow to follow if abuse or harm ever occurs.

Why does this matter? Because the GLC are our frontline volunteers, leading campaigns and events where children gather. Equipping them with this knowledge means every child who attends is met by people who know exactly how to keep them safe.

Let’s take our moment to celebrate the power of braveness, commitment and the prosperity of youth, especially our Safe Sister.

Our young women have been thriving for change; personal growth and the change in their communities. These mark their commitment to build different and make positive change in order to create safe space for all and free from any kinds of exploitation and trafficking.

From unknown strangers to come together and create sisterhood that creates positive impact toward others by raising awareness on the issues and implementing their initiatives while also becoming the role model for other peers.

SAFE Sisters are trained and empowered to become protectors and advocates within their schools and neighborhoods. These leadership volunteers use their voices, knowledge, and compassion to raise awareness, build trust, and prevent harm before it happens.

This Level 1 : Spark will tailor you to the information and build your foundational safety knowledge and confidence.
