:NAS is a implementing partner of HEIFER and attended on Heifer Cambodia Convenes 2026 Annual AC Summit to Strengthen Farmer-Led Food Systems
Phnom Penh, 27 May 2026 – Heifer International Cambodia successfully convened the 2026 Annual AC Summit under the theme “Strengthening Farmer-Led Food Systems and Beyond” at Tonlé Bassac II, Phnom Penh, bringing together more than 300 participants from government ministries, development partners, financial institutions, private sector companies, agricultural cooperatives, community fisheries, community protected areas, academia, and farmer organizations.
The Summit served as a national platform for dialogue, collaboration, and collective action to strengthen Cambodia’s farmer-led food systems through climate resilience, regenerative agriculture, financial inclusion, market access, and institutional strengthening.
Dr. Sareth reaffirmed Heifer Cambodia’s long-term commitment through its Cambodia Signature Program.
2026–2035, which aims to engage 520,000 smallholder farming households by 2035 to build resilient and inclusive livelihoods through regenerative and farmer-led food systems transformation.
Hi highlighted major achievements made together with government and partners, including support to 74 Agricultural Cooperatives and 11 Community Fisheries, establishment of 1,600 Self-Help Groups with more than 34,000 members, the majority women, and outreach to over 56,000 farming households through climate-smart and regenerative agriculture initiatives.
Throughout , participants shared practical experiences and innovative approaches related to cooperative development, regenerative agriculture, blended finance, youth agribusiness, digital innovation, aquaculture, ecosystem restoration, and climate-smart production systems.
The event concluded with renewed commitments from all stakeholders to strengthen farmer institutions, promote women and youth leadership, expand inclusive markets, mobilize investment, and build resilient and sustainable food systems for Cambodia’s future.
