Uncle Khem Veasna posted this critique on his personal social media after the ex-monk shared a provocative video attempting to prove he is not "starvingly poor" as LDP members had accused, showing off his current lifestyle of fine dining and financial stability. "Why do we call him 'Al-Ham' (the insatiably deprived)? Because of his animalistic spirit—the mindset of an animal that has always been starved. Having scraped together money by scamming the elderly while he was a monk, he left the monkhood with that sum, and now he is so excited he wants to boast to everyone. That is why we still call him 'Al-Ham' even now that he has money; his animalistic nature remains starved. He was desperate enough to use the monkhood to scam people, and now that he has the money, he feels great about it. Why does he feel so great? It is because of that animalistic ego that has always been deprived; even though the money was gained through deception, he still feels so proud that he has to show it off. If his heart wasn't that of an animal, he wouldn't scam others to get rich even if he were poor. And once rich, he wouldn't have the desire to show off like an ego that has always been starved. In summary, a mind focused only on gaining wealth will commit even the lowliest acts for money, and once successful, the desire to boast is exactly that 'starved ego' at work. It’s not wrong; it’s exactly that insatiable nature. Hahaha."

Furthermore, the Party President responded to the ex-monk in a live broadcast regarding the label "Brahm Kantop" (Brahma in a diaper), which the ex-monk had used against him. Uncle Khem Veasna stated that he sometimes gives away up to $100,000 at a time, claiming that his daily spending is equivalent to what this ex-monk spends in an entire year. He clarified that his purpose is always to explain and educate, not simply to hurl insults at others as Long Sopheap does.
