The residence is designed to support young Cambodians from rural areas who do not have sufficient resources for a solid formation. We try to do this not only by offering a hotel in school / university nearby, but also by accompanying their education. We train social skills, accompany the individual learning path of students, Floating weekday daily sport and provide further various seminars. Our Ed
ucation Coordinator is responsible for the academic performance and development of each student keep track. Students who have difficulty getting tutoring. Next there is a daily sports program during the week. Students will build and maintain not only a healthy mind, but also a healthy body. Through this project we hope to be a good role model and young people who otherwise would not have access to a good education, a safe place to study to offer. Lighthouse should be a place where hope is possible and in which Cambodian youths supported to reach their full potential. In Cambodia, there are many NGOs which various concerns, tackle from agriculture to human trafficking. What most of them have in common is the dependence on foreign donations. We believe that although well-intentioned, this constant cash flow pushes the locals in a victim role and makes them dependent on foreign patrons. That is why we have it set up a sustainability project. The goal of the project is to break out of this circle, and finally become a fully self-supporting, indigenous NGO founded. We try to achieve this goal by building businesses that involve the communities with which we work. By working primarily with rural people, holding and selling of goats and cows is especially well suited.
