Foundation for Tolerance International It began as the Untied Nations High Commissioner of Refugees (UNHCR) project “Conflict Transformation and Tolerance Training”, implemented in 1996-1998.

The Foundation for Tolerance International (FTI) is a nongovernmental organization working in the field of conflict prevention and nonviolent conflict resolution. When the project came to a close, it was clear further work in this field was needed in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia. Therefore the project team established the Foundation for Tolerance International in 1998 as a professional nongovernmen

t organization (NGO) for peacebuilding in the region. To date, FTI is one of the largest and most experienced NGOs working to prevent and resolve conflicts in the Central Asian region. FTI has implemented over 100 peacebuilding and conflict resolution projects since its inception. The team is composed of fifty different nationalities, various ages and diverse qualification. Its headquarters are in Bishkek, with branch offices in Batken, Osh, Jalalabad and Leilek. FTI is the founder of the network “Valley of Peace”, uniting NGOs in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as well as other international organizations.

Our Story

Foundation for Tolerance International is the largest non-governmental organization in Central Asia, which has been working in the field of peacebuilding since 1998.The experience of the fund on conflict management is unique in its kind, and we are developing. We establish strong ties with local communities to identify sources of potential conflict and find optimal solutions.

We work to prevent conflicts, build peace and justice in cities and in high-mountainous, remote and border areas.

We know the needs of our target audiences, we support and promote their ideas.

We analyze investigate and monitor conflicts at different levels.
