Youth Council C5+1 The C5+1 Youth Council was administered by the AUCA with a grant from the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic In 2016, the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic created a dynamic C5+1 Youth Council that brings together youth from Central Asia and Afghanistan with diverse backgrounds, leadership skills, and mindsets for positive change. The C5+1 Youth Council program is administered by the Center for Civic Engagement of the American University of Central Asia with a grant from the U.S. The opinions, findings and conclusions s

tated herein are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the United States Department of State. The goal of the project is to develop a regional network of civically engaged and English-speaking youth leaders across Central Asia who work to advance C5+1 priorities. The project reaches English-speaking high school and university students from Central Asian countries and Afghanistan and cooperates with C5+1 Youth Council alumni working and studying in Central Asian countries and Afghanistan. The C5+1 Youth Council selects a diverse group of university students residing in Bishkek representing Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan for Youth Council membership through an open call for applications, based on their leadership skills, backgrounds, and interest in the Youth Council’s objectives. C5+1 Youth Council members and alumni conduct their own youth-led projects in Bishkek and regions of the Kyrgyz Republic. Youth Council members and alumni conduct their own youth-led projects that align with the C5+1 platform agenda: Peace and Security, Economic Growth, Energy and Environment, People-to-People Connections.

🔐CyberSafe: Digital Security & Awareness Program successfully took place on October 11–12, 2025 at the American University of Technology in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The event gathered 30 English-speaking university students to enhance cybersecurity awareness among them through interactive workshops focused on identifying and mitigating cyber threats.

💻 The two-day program featured hands-on training sessions and practical activities conducted by leading cybersecurity experts from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan:

• Tokhirzhon Tashmatov 🇰🇬 — Inside the Hacker’s Mind | The Weakest Link | Digital Hygiene – Everyday Cyber Safety | Future Threats – AI, Deepfakes, and the Dark Web

• Yoldoshali Esonaliyev 🇺🇿 — Cyberattack trends in Uzbekistan | Blue vs Red: Teams That Shape Cyber Defense | Cyber Kahoot

• Akmaljon Sodiqov 🇺🇿 — Foundation of Web Hacking: How to Protect Yourself from Cyber Threats | Web Hacking Basics

• Otojon Khudayarov 🇺🇿 — Breaking Java Applications: Common Vulnerabilities and Exploits | How Hackers Can Break Enterprise Applications | Judging the Case Competition

🏆 A highlight of the program was the Cybersecurity Case Competition, where 6 teams worked on real-world cybersecurity challenges, and presented their solutions to the judges. The judging panel included Otojon Khudayarov 🇺🇿 (expert) and Amin Samishov 🇹🇯 (project co-leader & YC member).

3 teams won the competition and received certificates and YC merch:

Moreover, the most active participants, winners of the Kahoot and Social Media Contest were awarded with YC merch.

✨ Meet Nahida Qasimi, a passionate member of the C5+1 Youth Council from Afghanistan 🇦🇫

As part of the Youth Council, she has led and co-led a range of impactful initiatives, including Youth Towards Leadership (Co-leader, 2024), the C5+1 Quiz Event (Leader, 2025), Model C5+1 – National Round (Leader, 2025), the Central Asian Youth Vision Debate Tournament (Co-leader, 2025), and Alumni Reunion 4.0 (Organizing Team Member, 2025). Through her leadership and active engagement, Nahida has made significant contributions to the success and visibility of Youth Council projects and events.

🎨 In July–September 2025, the Youth for Peace: Art Contest brought together the creative voices of youth across Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 to express their vision of peace, tolerance, and cultural understanding through paintings, digital art, and poetry.

Launched as part of the “Youth for Peace” project, the contest invited youth aged 14–30 to submit original works, inspired by these themes. Submissions were evaluated on relevance (40%), creativity (30%), and impact (30%) by a judging panel of local artists and peace & security specialists from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

🏆 Out of 11 talented finalists, 3 winners were selected for their exceptional creativity and message of peace.
Each winner received a tablet gadget that celebrates their artistry and supports their continued learning and creative journey.

🌐Research Conference: Digital Pathways to Integration and Connectivity in Central Asia

Join us for an in-person research conference of the C5+1 Youth Council (YC), where alumni of C5+1 YC will present their findings and policy proposals aimed at strengthening regional integration in Central Asia. The event will also serve as an open platform for participants to share insights, suggestions, and feedback to refine and enrich the presented research.

The goal of the conference is to raise awareness and propose viable policies to foster collaboration among young entrepreneurs, civil society organizations , and governments in Central Asian countries (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan) by leveraging cross-border digital infrastructure and enhancing regional cooperation.

💻 CyberSafe: Digital Security & Awareness Program successfully took place on September 20–21 in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. It brought together 30 English-speaking high school and university students to enhance cybersecurity awareness among them through interactive workshops focused on identifying and mitigating cyber threats.

The “Youth for Peace” project brought together passionate high school and university students from across Uzbekistan to promote peace, tolerance, and responsible online behavior. The “Bridge to Peace” project brought together young people from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, fostering cross-border trust, mutual understanding, and regional stability. Additionally, Sevinch was a member of organizing team during Quiz Event in 2025. Currently she is a sophomore student at American University of Central Asia

📣 C5+1 Youth Council is proud to share highlights from the second activity of the “Bridge to Peace: Youth Connections for Border Harmony” project, aimed to strengthen cross-border trust, mutual understanding and regional stability among youth from Batken, Kyrgyzstan and Khujand, Tajikistan.

The second activity — a four-day intensive in-person sessions held on August 21–24, 2025 in Batken 🇰🇬 and Khujand🇹🇯 — brought together 20 selected participants from previous online sessions held on August 2. This follow-up event included lectures, hands-on activities, role-playing, group discussions, and practical exercises on how to critically assess information, lead awareness campaigns, and present evidence to address false claims and promote constructive dialogue.

As part of the mini-grant project selection process, an idea-pitching session was organized where four teams presented their initiatives. Following the presentations and jury evaluation, two projects were selected to receive $200 each for implementation:

🔹“Ethno Comics” (🇰🇬 team)
Participants will now begin working on their mini-projects with close guidance and support from the organizers.
