MEET MR. PATRICK ODHIAMBO OPALA — A LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE! 🌟

A distinguished educator, exceptional administrator, and dedicated English teacher, Mr. Opala left an indelible mark on Gongo Primary School and played a pivotal role in the rebirth of Gongo Warom Secondary School following its collapse in 2003-04.

During his tenure at Gongo Primary, he championed remarkable developments, renovations, improved infrastructure, and accountability, leaving behind a legacy of exemplary leadership. And who can forget his distinctive pronunciation of English words, with that sharp “S” tone? 😊

For him, performance, discipline was the order of the day! Time management was paramount. Arrival time was 5.45 am each morning. Revision for composition was line by line for tops and bottoms. If you were among the top performers Ole wako! 😂 Each red marked mistake was a sure stroke of the cane. Actually, you would know in advance how many canes will strike you by counting the reds. 😂🫡

Today, we, your sons and daughters in GWASA Family and beyond, proudly celebrate your service, sacrifice, and lasting impact. Your legacy lives on in the lives you shaped and the institutions you strengthened.

💐💐 MEET MR. CALEB OGAM | BOARD OF TRUSTEES - GWASA Family - Community Based Organization

Today, we proudly celebrate and honour Mr. Caleb Ogam, a distinguished educationist, dedicated community leader, and a valued member of the GWASA Family Board of Trustees.

With over 35 years of teaching experience, Mr. Ogam served with distinction as a teacher, administrator, and Headteacher of Nango Primary School. During his tenure, the school recorded remarkable KCPE results, earning recognition among the top-performing schools in Siaya County.

With support of the Millennium Villages Project (MVP), He found a school with muddy classrooms but left behind a transformed institution, with electricity, plastered classrooms, and reliable access to clean water by securing massive storage tanks. His legacy at Nango Primary School stands as a testament to visionary leadership, dedication, and the power of service. He was, and remains, one of the outstanding Mathematics and Science teachers of his time.

Beyond the classroom, MR. Ogam continues to serve the community through his leadership in GWASA Family. His commitment to mentorship, community development, and collective progress reflects the values we hold dear as a family.

Papa Caleb, thank you! As your sons and daughters in GWASA Family, we sincerely appreciate your invaluable contribution to education, community development, and our family. You have left indelible marks that time cannot erase.

🌟 MEET MR. MESHACK ORONDO — A TEACHER, MENTOR & SERVANT LEADER 🌟

For more than 25 years, Mr. Meshack Orondo has dedicated himself to the noble calling of teaching — shaping minds, nurturing character, and inspiring generations of students to become better versions of themselves.

Known for his calm and thoughtful speeches, firm commitment to discipline, and exceptional mentorship, Mwalimu Orondo has left an enduring mark on many lives. His influence extends beyond the classroom. He is an administrator, community leader, husband, father, and a dedicated servant of his people.

Within the GWASA Family, Mr. Orondo holds a position of great responsibility and trust as a leader of the GWASA Family Board of Trustees — the highest oversight organ entrusted with safeguarding the vision, values, proper management, and long-term stability of our Family.

For four years since the establishment of the Board of Trustees, Mwalimu Orondo has faithfully served GWASA Family with wisdom, experience, discipline, and commitment.

Today, from near and far, we pause to say THANK YOU, MWALIMU. ❤️

An alumnus of Gongo Warom Secondary School, a teacher by profession, and currently serving as Auditor General – GWASA Family - Community Based Organization.

# MEET MR. ELLY ATITO ORONDO

From the late 1980s to the mid-2000s, this was the man — a one-army man, famously known as Kwach Rakido and Elly Kobaso. 😂

One phrase that became his trademark whenever he spoke was:

“Nzaaanzaaaa!” 😂😂

And at funerals, his memorable words would echo:

“Disco aneno ka maduon'g. Ka utieko iko, to disco ema okuong kalo gate, eka Jodolo oluwe.” 😂😂

Uniquely voiced, firm and unmistakable, Elly Atito Orondo became a household name in Central GEM. He set a standard that remains deeply etched in the history of the community.

During his tenure, security and discipline were taken seriously (Of Course, corporal punishment was legal during this time). He served the people firmly and fairly, without fear or favour, earning a reputation that has endured across generations.

RE: DEMISE OF MR. GEORGE ANDREW ODHIAMBO - GUARDIAN TO SAMSON INDIRI (ORD092/10).

With deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God's will, the Office of the Chairperson announces the passing on of Mr. George Andrew Odhiambo, the beloved guardian to our member Samson Indiri (REG NO. ORD092/10).

Mr. George had been admitted at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Yala due to breathing complications and rested this afternoon.

On behalf of the Office of the Chairperson and the entire GWASA Family fraternity, we tender our most heartfelt and sincere condolences to Samson, his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult moment of grief.

May you find strength in God and in our solidarity as a family. We stand with you in prayers.

May the soul of the late Mr. George Andrew Odhiambo rest in eternal peace.
