Yesterday was a wonderful day at Kasevi Dispensary. Many people turned out for the ENT clinic. The collaboration with the area member of Parliament, who mobilized patients to benefit from our screening and treatment, was a great engagement. The news spread widely throughout the entire constituency. We continue to take action to prevent future disability.

This past week, we visited Katoteni, Yenzuva and Kitumbi secondary schools for the school health program. IEA conducted ear and skin screening and treatment, basic ear health care education, and the deworming exercise to all the students and teachers from these institutions. During the week, IEA held free ENT and MCH clinics at Kavuvwani Dispensary where community members were screened and treated for ENT and skin related problems. Mothers attending the clinic were attended to at the MCH.

Today we celebrate the international day of women. At IEA we want to celebrate our very own. Nurse Mildred has been a great pillar to the work of IEA. Her dedication and commitment to reach out to many women is always unwavering.

She serves from the heart, and that we know. The initiatives she has led have always been transformative. The mother clubs, the MCH, and the school health program—she has played a key role in all of these to see these interventions flourish. It is an honor to have Millly in our team, and today we want to celebrate her for all that she does. We continue to work as a team to achieve our objective.

To all the women who have also walked along with the IEA team, we celebrate them today. Their dedication to serving the community is much appreciated. To all the women who continue to benefit from our work, we wish you a happy International Women's Day and success as you advance the lessons learned from IEA.

Yesterday in Mutomo, Kitui South, IEA did mark the world hearing day at Mutomo Level IV Hospital, where community members were educated on the importance of ear care. IEA held a Continuous Medical Education with health workers at the facility health where they were taken through the basic training on ear health care with a key focus on proper diagnosis and referrals.

In line with this year's theme of From Communities to Classrooms, Hearing Care for Every Child, parents and community members were informed on various ways of taking care of their children's ear health. The importance of immunization against measles was highlighted to the community as a key role parents should take seriously, as this disease is one of the key causes of hearing loss in most rural setups where we carry out our work.

IEA also did visit Kitoo Comprehensive School, where all the 285 students and their teachers were educated on ear care, screened for ear conditions, and attended to if they required treatment.

IEA thanks all the stakeholders who helped make this day a success. Indeed, IEA continues to take action to prevent needless disability.

We have kicked off the day at Mutomo level IV Hospital for the World Hearing Day activity.
