OFFICIAL CONDOLENCE ANNOUNCEMENT

​Good morning Vandu visukha vi ishinyalu, valina vosi, vikho nende varende.

​On behalf of my brother, Hon. Japheth Lijoodi Livasia—who hails from Ibwitsende, Shilolavakhali Village, Mukango Sub-Location, Virhembe Location, Kakamega East Sub-County—I wish to officially share with the entire Isukha community, friends, and well-wishers the very sad news of the passing of his beloved wife, Mrs. Ruth Shimala Lijoodi.
​Mrs. Ruth Shimala was the daughter of the late Shadrack Madasio from Ibushikali, Lirhanda Village. She passed away while undergoing medical treatment in the United States of America.
​The family is currently in consultation with relatives and friends both locally and in the US, and a public announcement regarding the burial arrangements and venue will be communicated in due course. In the meantime, we request your continued prayers and support for the bereaved family, especially for Hon. Japheth Lijoodi during this difficult time.
​A Brief Tribute to Hon. Japheth Lijoodi:
Many in Isukha will recall that Hon. Japheth Lijoodi served as the first Member of Parliament for Shinyalu Constituency in 1988 after its separation from Ikolomani. Prior to entering elective politics, he served the Government of Kenya in the Ministry of Agriculture and was assigned to the FAO’s Economic Planning Section stationed in Nigeria. In 1988, a delegation of elders from Isukha East—including Ishilinji Wakukha, Anguva, Saul Lisambu, Joseph Alusa, John Shilavula Muhunyi, and Amahua Lwoyero—prevailed upon him to resign from government service to come and represent his people as Shinyalu's pioneer MP. He also served as an Assistant Minister and was the KANU National Treasurer for 18 years. Hon. Japheth Lijoodi is currently residing at his home in Shilolavakhali Village, Mukango Sub-Location.

Shinyalu Must Choose Its Own Leader

Shinyalu people are not ready to have an MP endorsed for us from outside.

Hon. Boni Khalwale endorsing Lisamula simply because they are almost age mates is, in my view, a disservice to the people of Shinyalu. Anything involving Lisamula, Kizito and Ikana is not what Shinyalu people are prepared to accept.

Let Khalwale endorse an MP for the people of Ikolomani and allow Shinyalu to make its own independent choice. If he continues imposing his friends through Linda Mwananchi rallies, he risks losing the support of Shinyalu and hurting his 2027 gubernatorial ambitions. He has been a strong Senator, but the people will decide whether he deserves the Governor's seat.

In Shinyalu, watch these aspirants closely:

Simon Manyengo.
Patrick Isai.
Humphrey Sachero.
And others.

Come 2027, one of these leaders must emerge as the MP of Shinyalu.

Shinyalu will choose its own leader.

Sifuna should be careful with Babu Owino and Orengo. Their political interests may not always align with his, especially as each seeks greater influence in national and regional politics.
Babu needs to remember that Nairobi is politically diverse and that Luhya voters are an important bloc. Sifuna’s growing national profile should not be underestimated. Likewise, Orengo still has to balance national ambitions with his Siaya political base.
The bigger lesson is that political alliances should be built on mutual respect, not jealousy or short-term calculations. Sifuna should remain focused, avoid unnecessary political fights and continue building directly with voters.
In politics, numbers and trust matter more than chest-thumping. If an alliance collapses, the person with the strongest independent support base is usually the one who survives.
