Every seedling planted today is a promise to tomorrow.

Today, we proudly joined Gede Community Forest Association (CFA) in Mida Creek as part of the build-up to the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, which will be commemorated in Lamu County on 26th July 2026.

Together, we planted 5,200 mangrove seedlings.

These moments remind us that conservation is never the work of one person or one organization.

Today, we planted more than mangroves. We planted hope.

This morning, our team, conservation partners, government agencies, and community members came together at Dongokundu.

Location: Dongokundu (-3.371017, 39.986761)

Together, we planted 1,500 mangrove seedlings and held a conservation awareness session to highlight the importance of protecting our coastal ecosystems.

Mangroves are more than trees.

They protect our shoreline from erosion.

They provide breeding grounds for fish.

They store carbon.

And they support the livelihoods of coastal communities.

Today's event reminded us that conservation isn't the responsibility of one organization.

It's a shared responsibility.

When communities, partners, and leaders work together, restoration becomes possible.

Today, we had a productive meeting with the MCCC Chairman to plan an upcoming mangrove planting and conservation awareness event.

Because protecting our environment isn't something one person or one organization can do alone.

It takes communities.

It takes partnerships.

It takes people who believe our coastline is worth protecting.

Every conversation we have today is a step towards healthier mangroves, stronger ecosystems, and a better future for the next generation.
