The Light of Hope CBO was incorporated into a legal entity on registration with the ministry of East African Community (EAC), Labour and Social Protection, State Department for Social Protection, Department of Social Development. On 9th/May/2022 and was issued with the Certificate number: 05730. OUR GENERAL FOCUS

Enlisting the orphaned and vulnerable children, the sickly elderly people, victims of child abuse and facilitating the provision or providing a safe, healthy and conducive environment of alternative love where they can be transformed into wholesome adults or restore the state of dignity of the sickly aged with the desired physical, emotional and spiritual stability. To transform the orphaned and vulnerable children from the poor local community into independent and productive God fearing adults as well as restoration of dignity and health to the poor ailing aged people

OUR MOTTO

1) To provide an alternative safe home for the homeless, orphaned, vulnerable and abused children as a last resort.
2) To facilitate the provision of balanced nutritious food for the needy.
3) To provide quality education at least cost
4) To support and facilitate such activities as shall inculcate socio-cultural, moral and spiritual values
5) To support and facilitate empowerment and capacity building programs.
6) To support and/or facilitate programs on the care of the ailing aged and the people living with HIV/AIDS.
7) To build formidable partnerships, linkages and value adding networks with like-minded organizations.
8) To start and/or support more income generating enterprises
9) To support and/or facilitate a rehabilitation programme for the street children
CURRENT ACTIVITIES
1) Fund raising to support the following endeavors;-
a) School fees for the enlisted children. b) Teaching and learning materials for the children. c) School feeding programme. d) General upkeep of the helpless and hapless. e) Construction of more spring water sources for the community
2) Income generation through poultry keeping. Reaching out to potential supporters willing to sponsor at least one needy child.
2. Fundraising to finance the following projects;-
a. The purchase of adequate learning materials. b. The purchase of a parcel of land to construct the following infrastructure:
• A safe house
• A Primary and secondary school
• A vocational training and commercial fashion design collage.
• A backery and a yoghurt processing plant.
• A mineral water treatment and packaging plant.
• A rehabilitation center for street children
3. Engaging the like-minded organizations with the view to starting lasting value adding partnership and /or working through the corporate social responsibility (CSR) departments of corporate entities to benefit from their programmes. PROBLEM STATEMENT
The current global economic crunch and the financial recession of the recent past occasioned by the covid-19 pandemic considerately changed the disposable income of the local people leading to silent school drop-outs and gross inability to provide even the very basic needs. JUSTIFICATION
An expanded support base will enable us to extend our catchment area and mitigate the suffering of the needy and vulnerable in this community. OUR QUEST
We are therefore earnestly appealing for your valued support on this endeavour, which will be highly appreciated and thankfully received by us in the following forms;

2. Funding the whole or part of any of the planned projects( A proposal will be availed on request)
