Women and youth are critical players in climate change governance. However, they often remain systematically excluded from decision-making processes.
To address these systemic challenges, we trained 40 women and youth leaders from Kibuyuni and Mwazaro in Lungalunga Sub-County through the WE CARE initiative.
The participants were equipped with leadership and Evidence-Based Advocacy (EBA) skills to strengthen their confidence to take up leadership roles in climate adaptation governance and engage collectively in advocacy and decision-making processes.
The knowledge and skills gained will promote their meaningful participation in climate adaptation governance and policy advocacy, while enabling them to sustain advocacy efforts and influence decision-making processes within climate change governance structures.
The WE CARE initiative is funded by Plan International Kenya through the COSME Project.
