Last Saturday, Kwale Focus CBO completed a three-day Internal Cascade Training on Evidence-Based Advocacy (EBA) as part of our institutional strengthening efforts under the COSME Project, with support from Plan International Kenya .The training brought together team members to strengthen our knowledge and practical skills in advocating for inclusive and community-driven development.
Throughout the three days, participants explored critical topics including climate change and its impact on communities in Kwale, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and the gender–climate nexus, as well as feminist and evidence-based advocacy approaches. The sessions also focused on identifying community challenges, crafting strong advocacy messages, and understanding how evidence can be used to influence meaningful change.
The training was highly interactive, featuring group discussions, practical exercises, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Participants also engaged in stakeholder mapping, coalition building, risk assessment, and advocacy action planning, strengthening our collective capacity to champion inclusive climate action and sustainable community development initiatives in Kwale County.
