Yesterday, our Executive Director, Jamal Abdallah, had the privilege of serving as a panelist during the “The Kenya We Want” youth dialogue, a platform that brought together young people to reflect on the kind of nation they aspire to build.
The discussion emphasized the importance of understanding our history, strengthening civic participation, and promoting accountable leadership as foundations for a more inclusive and prosperous Kenya.
During the session, Jamal highlighted the strategic importance of the Coastal region in shaping Kenya’s history and future, noting that history is not merely about the past, but a guide for building equitable governance, active citizenship, and sustainable development. He further encouraged young people to move beyond electoral participation and become active contributors to governance, community development, and nation-building.
At Smart Move Community, we remain committed to creating spaces where young people are informed, engaged, and empowered to shape policies and decisions that affect their lives.
Together, we continue building the Kenya we want; through informed dialogue, meaningful participation, and collective action.
