Empowering Men, Strengthening Families and Communities

We held a successful Men Affairs Training at Mukunike, bringing together 39 members to discuss critical issues affecting the boy child and the role of male figures in society.

The training created a safe space for men to openly discuss challenges facing them today, including mental health struggles, unemployment, family responsibilities, peer pressure, substance abuse, and loss of positive male mentorship. Special focus was given to mental health awareness, encouraging men to speak out, seek support, and overcome stigma surrounding emotional wellbeing.

The participants explored practical ways to overcome these challenges through unity, mentorship, responsible fatherhood, positive leadership, economic empowerment, and community support.

Strong men build strong families, and strong families build strong communities. Together, we continue to raise responsible men who will guide and protect the next generation.

Strengthening Families Through Nutrition & Positive Parenting

Today, Watoto Wenye Nguvu (WWN) successfully held a Mother and Child Nutrition and Parenting Training at Munyu Primary School.

Beneficiaries from Munyu, Githima, Magana, Mbagathi, and Kurahi villages attended the training and actively participated in discussions on child nutrition, parenting, family care, and child wellbeing. The participants highly appreciated the training and thanked WWN for empowering caregivers with practical knowledge to strengthen families and improve the lives of children.

The training comes at a critical time when Kenya continues to face serious child wellbeing challenges. National reports indicate that:
๐Ÿ”น Over 55% of children in Kenya experience multidimensional poverty.
๐Ÿ”น Many children continue to suffer from malnutrition, stunting, and poor feeding practices.
๐Ÿ”น Cases of neglect, violence, and poor parenting continue to affect thousands of children nationwide.

These realities remind us that empowering parents and caregivers is one of the strongest investments we can make for the future of our children and communities.

Together, we continue promoting healthy families, informed parenting, proper nutrition, and community-led solutions for sustainable change.

Water is Life ๐Ÿ’ง

The ongoing community water connection project in Matathia and Powerline areas continues to create positive change by improving access to water for both domestic use and farming. Families are now able to access water closer to their homes for cooking, cleaning, drinking, and supporting small-scale farming activities that strengthen household food security and livelihoods.

This 1st phase of the project is focused on expanding water connections within the community, bringing hope to vulnerable households and reducing the challenges caused by water scarcity. Reliable water access not only improves health and sanitation but also empowers families to engage in productive farming and build more sustainable livelihoods.

Together with the community, we continue working toward practical solutions that restore dignity and strengthen resilience because water is life.

Community-Led Change in Action

Today, we continued with community-led sensitization sessions focused on shifting power to the community by empowering residents to identify their own challenges and develop practical local solutions. The engagement brought together officials of the Kwa Kumbu Self Help Group for meaningful dialogue and collective planning.

Special awareness was created on care reforms and community strengthening, emphasizing the importance of family and community-based care systems that protect and support vulnerable children and families. Through open discussions, participants explored ways of strengthening local support structures, promoting child protection, and enhancing community ownership in development initiatives.

When communities lead, sustainable solutions emerge, dignity is restored, and lasting transformation becomes possible. Together, we are building stronger, safer, and more resilient communities. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿค

Community-led change begins when people are given the power to shape their own future. ๐ŸŒฑ

Today, over 200 members from different self-help groups gathered for community meetings focused on strengthening community-led development and shifting power back to the people. The discussions created a platform for residents to openly identify their priority needs, share challenges, and co-create practical local solutions.

The meetings emphasized that sustainable development is achieved when communities take ownership of decision-making processes. Through unity, participation, and collective action, self-help groups continue to play a key role in promoting accountability, resilience, and inclusive growth at the grassroots level.

Together, we are building stronger communities where every voice matters and every member becomes part of the solution.

Community-Led Change in Action ๐ŸŒฑ

Today, we held a successful community-led project meeting in Matungulu North bringing together village elders and Nyumba Kumi leaders to strengthen local participation in development initiatives.

The discussion focused on the importance of shifting power to the community by creating space for residents to identify their own priority needs, share lived experiences, and co-create practical and sustainable solutions. True transformation happens when communities are not just beneficiaries, but active drivers of change.

When communities lead, ownership grows, accountability strengthens, trust deepens, and solutions become long-lasting. Through unity, dialogue, and collective action, we are building resilient communities where every voice matters.

Together, we continue shaping a future by the people, for the people. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝโœจ
