At Kiota , our family empowerment programs are more than just initiatives; they're lifelines! 💖 We equip caregivers with hands-on skills like beadwork, detergent and soap making, empowering them to generate income and support their families. But that’s not all! Our programs also provide crucial psychosocial support for their mental well-being, fostering resilience and improved social relationships with the children, family members and the community at large integration for the children in our care. 🧒🏽✨

At Kiota, we believe that every child deserves a safe, loving, and nurturing home. 🏡❤️ Our work centers on reuniting children with their families and relatives—a process that ensures the best interest of the child is always our top priority.

But our journey doesn’t end there. After reintegration, we continue to walk alongside these children and their families, providing education, basic needs, counseling, and other essential support to help them thrive in all aspects of life.

This January we are proud to have reintegrated 5 children back to their families. However, as we reintergrate we keep receiving more children at the Centre due to the never ending predicaments within the family and the community.

However through guidance, support, and community collaboration, we are bridging the gaps and creating stronger family bonds.

To help as achieve our vision, Kiota wants to enthuse as many people as possible! You can help us through;

The youngest one was so happy to attend school for the first time last week. She has been sharing with others throughout the week what she learns. Though in her class it's more about learning how to colour and playing singing games.

This indicates that school is more than just books and homework—it’s a place where kids discover the world, make friends, and learn the life skills they need to build a brighter future. 🌟✨ Early education plays a key role in shaping their minds, boosting their confidence, and teaching them values like teamwork, problem-solving, and kindness. 🤝💡

Dit is Leaky, 🙋: Hij werkt als interne social worker, waarbij hij ook als huisvader optreedt. Dit doet hij sinds juli 2023. Hij is iemand die serieus nadenkt op psychologisch vlak om de kinderen te geven wat ze nodig hebben en ze te begeleiden naar een betere toekomst. Zijn achtergrond is dan ook Social work. Hij is erg energiek en is de jongste van de stafmedewerkers (geboren in 1997). Hij geeft het goede voorbeeld aan zowel kinderen als medewerkers als het om sport gaat. Hij gaat namelijk elke dag fitnessen en begint soms al om 5.00u 's morgens!

Dit is Mary. 🙋: Ze werkt als social worker sinds september 2021. Ze is een vrouw die heel goed is in de waarheid boven tafel krijgen als het gaat om de dynamieken die binnen de familie's plaatsvinden. Vaak willen familieleden een slaatje slaan uit de hulp die er geboden wordt. Maar Mary is goed om hun te wijzen op de eigen verantwoordelijkheid. Zowel bij de jongeren als de volwassenen. Ze heeft vaak hele goede ideeën om iets op te lossen. Daarnaast is ze een vrolijke vrouw die lekker meedoet als het gaat om zingen en dansen.

Over the past few weeks, we've had the joy of welcoming many visitors from the community, colleges and high schools to Kiota!🤩🥳 It's been a wonderful time filled with laughter and celebration, especially as we celebrated several birthdays.🍎🎂🎂🍭 The children had a fantastic time enjoying cakes, games, and the company of friends and well wishers who are part of the Kiota family.🤸‍♂️🤸 Thank you to everyone who comes to share in these special moments with us! Today we also wish our team leader a happy Birthday.🎂🥂
