The Thika Cancer Care –Community Based Organisation was formed with the express purpose of facilitating the construction of a cancer treatment complex in Thika Level 5 hospital. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY/ PROPOSAL SUMMARY
Thika Cancer Care was borne as Public Private Partnerships (PPP) between Thika level 5 hospital and PEMA Self Help Group; which is the corporate social responsibility arm of Penta Flower
s –a horticultural entity based in Kiambu County. Thika Cancer Care (TCC) was formally registered as a Community Based Organization (RSC/639/CBO/2019) on 7th May, 2019 under the auspices of the Kiambu County Government, with the express purpose of facilitating the construction of a cancer treatment complex in Thika Level 5 hospital. These projects include free medical camps, Typhoid and Hepatitis vaccinations, donations of equipment to dispensaries, construction of classrooms for public primary schools, bursary sponsorship for needy children and support for children needs amongst others. Thika Cancer Care is Community Based Organization developed a 3-tier approach to meeting the needs of cancer patients within Thika Sub-county and the greater Kiambu County and its environs. This approach consists of a ten-year plan broken down into 3 parts for ease of implementation as follows;
1. Year 1-Year 3 will focus on prevention, early detection, cancer screening, cancer diagnosis, registration and surveillance, and capacity building of personnel within the Thika Level 5 Hospital.
2. Year 4-Year 6 will focus on cancer treatment, palliative care and survivorship.
3. Year 7-Year 10 will focus on the establishment of a full-fledged treatment complex within the Thika Level 5 Hospital. This plan requires a great deal of support and expertise from external stakeholders for it to attain fruition. GOAL
To ensure provision of cancer screening services increased, public awareness, early detection and management towards halting and reversing the increasing burden of cancer in Kiambu County and Kenya as a whole. OBJECTIVES

Creating cancer awareness: to create awareness and increase knowledge for prevention and early detection to lessen the burden of cancer in Kiambu County and Kenya as a whole.
Organizing cancer screening programs: to facilitate early cancer diagnosis and medical interventions through cancer screening.
Capacity building: To improve on organization viability, capacity and delivery of service on the cancer care continuum.
To establish patient navigation services: to promote access quality and comprehensive cancer care to overcome individual barriers to enable completion of treatment.
Create partnership and advocacy: To implement a more effective and collaborative response to the local cancer burden through strengthening existing local and international linkages and develop new ones. VISION
