🌍Today, on the , we join the global call to give a “red card” to child labour and stand up for every child's right to learn, play, grow, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

This year’s theme reminds us that protecting children requires not only ending but also ensuring decent livelihoods for adults and stronger systems that safeguard children's .

📊 Despite progress, 138 million children worldwide are still engaged in child labour, and nearly 54 million of them are involved in hazardous work that threatens their health, safety, and development.

These are children who should be in school, spending time with friends, discovering their talents, and enjoying the simple joy of childhood.

💙At Action for Children in Conflict, through the Time to Play Project, we believe that every child deserves a free from exploitation. We create safe spaces where children and young people can learn, play, heal, and grow.

Through structured play, psychosocial support, life skills sessions, mentorship, and child protection interventions, we help children build resilience, strengthen their well-being, and access the support they need to thrive.

🙌 This World Day Against Child Labour, let us all raise a red card to and commit to protecting every child's right to safety, education, play, and a brighter future.

⚽ At Action for Children in Conflict, the Time to Play Project continues to create opportunities where children and young people can engage in meaningful play experiences. Children are given opportunities to engage in activities that support their emotional, social, and personal development.

🧒🏾However, many still lack access to safe and supportive environments where they can simply play and be children.

💙 We call on parents, teachers, community leaders, partners, and duty bearers to prioritise and protect children’s to play. Let us invest in safe spaces, support child-friendly programmes, and create environments where every can thrive through play.

✨Protecting environments where children can express themselves freely helps strengthen their recovery, growth, and overall well-being.

Together, we can ensure that play is protected, valued, and accessible to all children.

👏5,000+ LIVES TRANSFORMED: AfCiC 2025 Impact Report 🧡✨

We are proud to share the Action for Children in Conflict (AfCiC) 2025 Impact Report!

Thanks to our partners and community, we turned hope into life-changing action across Kiambu, Murang'a, Laikipia, and Nairobi.

📈 2025 by the Numbers:

✅5,000+ Total Beneficiaries reached through our holistic programs.

✅1,381 Children engaged in safe recreation through the Time to Play project.

✅782 Students supported with critical meals through our Feeding Program.

✅201 Girls empowered and protected from FGM/C via Wezesha Wasichana.

✅104 Students kept in school through academic sponsorships.

✅77 Children rescued, rehabilitated, and sheltered at our Temporary Rescue Centre.

🌟 Real Impact: Alex's Story

Behind these numbers are lives changed. Forced into hard labour due to extreme poverty, 15-year-old Alex found himself in conflict with the law while trying to feed his siblings.

After an AfCiC social worker intervened with counselling and shelter, Alex is now back in school and thriving—dreaming of becoming a lawyer to protect other vulnerable children.

🚀 New Projects

We are expanding our reach with two new child-led advocacy and inclusion initiatives:

1. Dialogue Works 2.0: Giving children a platform to influence policy.

2. Sports Inclusion for Children with Disability (SICD): Breaking barriers through inclusive recreation.

Happy ! 🇰🇪

As we celebrate our country’s internal self-rule, we are reminded that true independence begins with an empowered mind.

This year’s theme, "Education, Skills and the Future", sits at the heart of what we do.

Last year alone, we supported 104 children by providing:

🎓Full school fees

📚 Essential stationery

🧼 Vital hygiene products

We believe that no child should be left behind. By securing their education today, we are securing Kenya’s future tomorrow.
