SUPPORT A GIRL. RESTORE HER DIGNITY.

As we mark Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, Generation Guiders continues to stand with vulnerable girls facing period poverty in our communities.
Many girls miss school every month because they cannot afford sanitary pads.

Together, we can change this reality.
We are calling upon friends, partners, leaders, and well-wishers to join our campaign by supporting us with sanitary pads or financial contributions.
Every donation helps a girl stay in school, gain confidence, and manage her menstrual health with dignity.
Let us come together and make a difference.

One of the most devastating parts of leaving abusive relationship is realizing…
The abuse doesn’t always end when the relationship does.
Sometimes it spreads.

Suddenly the people around you start saying things like:
👉 “Maybe they didn’t mean it like that.”
👉 “Are you sure it was really abuse?”
👉 “You should just forgive them.”
👉 “They seem fine to me.”

And before long, you realize the manipulation followed you out of the relationship.

That’s what survivors of domestic violence call “flying monkeys.”

People who are manipulated into defending the abuser, spreading their version of events, minimizing your pain, or making you question your own reality.

Not everyone who defends an abuser is innocent.
Sometimes abuser and abuse recruits an audience.

Many of the myths surrounding consent and coercion on sexual violence can make victims and survivors feel as though they are somehow to blame. It can also make them feel that what happened to them wasn’t ‘real’ sexual violence.

Without consent, any kind of sexual activity is sexual violence.

Coercion is not consent. When we take away, challenge, or do not accept someone’s right to say “No,” the interaction is not consensual.

The slogan, “Yes Means Yes, No Means No,” is reductive. Sometimes, someone may be too afraid, incapable, or feel pressured to where saying “No” is not an option, or they may have already said, “No” but the other person is not willing to accept their “No” and continues to push for a “Yes.”
Similarly, someone may say “Yes,” when they have been made to feel like saying “No,” is not safe or accepted.

When someone is coerced, it is never their fault. The fault lies with the individual who created the circumstances where saying, “No” was not acceptable or safe. If you’ve been coerced, it’s not your fault and you do not deserve to feel burdened by any blame.

Another woman is gone.
Another life stolen.
On 14th/April 2026,Anita Mugweru 29years is killed by her husband, a KDF officer from the Kenya how many more women must die before we act? This is femicide and it is preventable!
No uniform. No title. No relationship should protect a killer.

We need:
🚨 Safe shelters for women at risk
🚨 Real accountability for perpetrators
🚨 Full implementation of the AU CEVAWG

Women cannot keep dying while policies sit on paper.Commitments are not enough.

Action saves lives.

April marks Sexual Assault Awareness Month a time to reflect, but also to act.
Across Kenya, we are witnessing a disturbing pattern of femicide — the most extreme and irreversible form of violence against women and girls.
We remember:
Jane Atila, a student at the University of Nairobi
Sheila Chebet, a student at Karatina KMTC

Rose Apondi, a student at RIAT,(Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology )Training College Kisumu, was last seen 5th April, later her body was found on 12 April 2026.

PINK Genderwatch Network stands in solidarity with their families and communities.
We commit to amplifying survivor voices, and holding systems accountable until every woman and girl is safe.

We refuse to silence
We refuse inaction.
We refuse to lose more women.

In the spirit of Give to Gain, we refuse to stay silent!
PINK Genderwatch Network, alongside Lawyer Sr Hedwig Muse , stood to support a 4-year-old girl in a deeply disturbing case of defilement by a 75-year-old relative. A painful reminder that our children are not safe in spaces meant to protect them home.
We demand urgent action and accountability.

PINK Genderwatch Network CBO had the opportunity to participate in the Thika Law Courts Dialogue Day under the theme “Engaging Citizens, Strengthening Justice.” This forum was important because it created a direct and safe space for citizens, civil society, and justice actors to openly engage on how the justice system serves the public.

We were able to share key gaps contributing to delays in justice for survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) during the Thika Law Courts Dialogue Day,that included slow case handling, limited survivor support, inadequate information on court processes, fear and stigma, and weak coordination among justice actors. Such delays deny survivors timely justice and healing.
Through partnership, coordination, and a survivor-centred approach, we can reduce delays, strengthen access to justice, and ensure survivors are supported with dignity, care, and timely responses.

Together, we can do better for survivors of SGBV. 💜
