Mazingira Day 2026 🌱

PET joined the local administration at the Chief's Camp, Kilimambogo, Thika East to mark Mazingira Day.

We celebrated by planting indigenous and fruit tree seedlings together. Greening our environment for a better tomorrow.

As International Day of Older Persons approaches, I urge all of us to do something—however small—for an older person near you.

Whether they are related to you or not.
Whether you know their name or not.

Just notice them.

The older people around us carry so much within them—burdens, pain, memories, loss, sacrifice, loneliness, and stories we may never know.

Most of us are not in a position to change their lives. And perhaps we don't need to.

Sometimes, we can simply give them a moment that reminds them that life is still beautiful, that they are still seen, and that they still matter.

Greet an elderly person you pass.

If an older person is selling something, buy from them—and leave a little extra.

Buy a kilo of sugar and give it to an older person randomly.

Call your grandparents. Ask how they are. Listen to them. Honor them.

Visit an elderly neighbor.

Sit with an older person for a few minutes.

You don't have to do something big.

Just be conscious of them.

This International Day of Older Persons, let us each make one older person's day a little lighter.

Small acts.
Simple moments.
Human dignity.

Because sometimes, what someone needs most is simply to know that they have not become invisible.

Today we stand together for a drug-free, hopeful future.

Drug abuse leaves people disoriented, distant from family, and cut off from their potential. Abstinence is an act of strength — it protects your health, your dreams, and your community.

Let’s fill that space with growth: peer education, farming, art, sports, skills training, and service. When we choose purpose over substances, we build stronger individuals and a stronger Kenya.

To the youth, elders and beyond: your clarity, your wisdom, and your work matter. Choose life. Choose growth.
