Appearance hides uselessness.
Surface hides the depth.

Therefore, we can say they're inherently deceptive.

The physical world and the body are under the same category with surface, perfume and appearance.
Thus, they're both deceptive rather than illusion.
They are deceptive in the sense of they appear to be the true ones.

Truly, anything that makes efforts it's inherently inferior.
