Adia organization The meaning of the name Adia in Swahili is valuable gift, in Dutch waardevol geschenk. This because we strongly believe that everyone is a valuable gift.

Everyone can grow their talents (with support), which is a valuable gift to the world around us. Our goal is to make sure people, especially youths but also other age groups, can grow their talents and make their dreams come true. Unfortunately, there are many unemployed youths in Kenya. Even though our young people have diverse talents and dreams, most of them have trouble meeting their day to d

ay life expenses, finish school or develop skills. With this organization we hope we can give those specific people the first steps to achieving what they want. So these people can give back to the community again.

Update!
We often get asked how Wambui and Modester are doing now that they have started their further education. We're happy to share that they're doing very well!
Last week, they completed the final exams for the theoretical part of their training. They have already successfully passed their practical exams, and now they're just waiting for the results of the remaining theory tests.

After that, around end of August/ beginning of September, they will begin their clinical placements at the hospital and on the ambulance. The placements will last for five months, which is longer than the school had originally indicated. They are really looking forward to this next step and are excited to put their knowledge into practice!

We krijgen regelmatig de vraag hoe het met Wambui en Modester gaat nu ze zijn gestart met hun vervolgopleiding. Goed nieuws: het gaat heel goed!

Vorige week hebben ze de laatste examens van het theoriegedeelte van hun opleiding afgerond. De praktijkexamens hebben ze inmiddels al met succes behaald. Nu is het alleen nog wachten op de uitslagen van de overige theorietoetsen.

Daarna, ongeveer rond eind augustus of begin september, starten ze met hun stages in het ziekenhuis en op de ambulance. Deze stageperiode duurt vijf maanden, wat langer is dan de school vooraf had aangegeven. Ze kijken er enorm naar uit en zijn enthousiast om de opgedane kennis in de praktijk te brengen!

We are so grateful for everyone who donated! We met the goal for the school fees for Wambui and Modester. The first (and hopefully not last) students that will be sponsored to school. Wambui starts her driving classes (needed to become an ambulance driver) upcoming Monday and they will join the course in January when schools are reopening. Thank you all so much! 🙏🏾

Wij zijn enorm dankbaar voor de donaties! We hebben het doel voor het schoolgeld voor Wambui en Modester behaald. De eerste (en hopelijk niet laatste) studenten die gesponsord kunnen worden. Wambui zal haar rijlessen aankomende maandag starten (deze zijn nodig om ambulance chauffeur te worden). Aankomende januari (zodra de inschrijvingen weer open zijn) zullen ze starten met de studie. Nogmaals heel veel dank! 🙏🏾
