Tharaka Women's Welfare Program

Tharaka Women's Welfare Program Commonly known as "NTANIRA NA MUGAMBO" or (circumcision by words) the first ARP in Kenya.

Tharaka Women’s Welfare Programme (TWWP) began in 2005 to eradicate female ge***al mutilation (FGM) in Tharaka through an alternative rite of passage (ARP) program. TWWP has since expanded on this program, to also include the promotion of girls’ education through sponsorship, adult literacy, as well as improving the standards of living for women in the community by helping them to build their econ

omic, social, and life skills capacity in order to cope with a culture that is domineering towards women. The aim of the program is to create an environment where women and girls are actively involved in development issues.

From Tharaka to the national stage!!!

A proud moment for TWWP as our Founder & Executive Director, Aniceta Kiriga, graces the studios of KBC Channel 1 TV Good Morning Kenya for a powerful conversation on “Architects of Identity: Bridging Generations to Drive Lasting Change.”

Her journey is a reminder that when women lead, inspire and share their stories, they help shape generations to come.

A moment of impact. A story of purpose. A woman at the forefront.

A conversation worth watching!

This Wednesday, our Founder & Executive Director, Aniceta Kiriga HSC, takes to the screen on KBC Channel 1 TV Good Morning Kenya to discuss “Architects of Identity: Bridging Generations to Drive Lasting Change.”

Three weeks. So much learning. So much talent. So many memories!

Today, we wrapped up the Smart Kids August Holiday Edition, where our PP1 to Grade 10 learners spent the last three weeks learning, playing and exploring different academic and co-curricular activities with our librarians, teachers and coaches.

From book lovers, dancers and chess masters to budding models, we saw talents come alive and yes, we even crowned our Mr. & Miss Smart Kids – August Edition!

Now it’s time to head back to school, but the fun doesn’t end here…

December Edition is coming!
Parents, don't let your child miss out!

As our girls prepare to return to school for their third term, we brought them together for a special mentorship and motivation session.

But this time, the inspiration was different.

One of the mentors before them was once a scholar herself, seated in the very same space, dreaming about her future. Today, she is a Senior School Biology & Agriculture teacher, a part-time lecturer, and a doctoral student and she chose to come back and pour into the next generation.

She shared her journey, encouraged the girls to believe in their abilities, and reminded them that where they are today does not determine where they can go tomorrow. And, of course, she didn't leave without giving them a few practical tips on how to approach and answer Biology and Agriculture questions.

This is the kind of impact we believe in: supporting a girl today and watching her return tomorrow as an inspiration to others.

Her story is proof that mentorship can plant seeds that grow far beyond the classroom.

This is the ripple effect of investing in girls.

Do you know why you should choose us for your digital skills journey?

Because our training is personalized and practical.

Here, our trainers don’t just stand in front of a class and teach. They sit with learners, understand their needs, answer their questions, and guide them step by step, in person.

Because everyone learns differently and we believe no learner should be left behind.

Choose a learning experience where your growth matters.

The school term came to an end with a closing assembly, and we were glad to be there with the girls we support through the Sisters to School Program. It was a simple moment, but seeing the girls together, celebrating the end of another school term, reminded us why this program matters.

For every girl who gets to remain in school, there is another opportunity to learn, grow, and work towards the future she dreams of.

We are proud to walk this journey with them.
