WE WON'T SHOW UP FOR ANTI-GOVERNMENT DEMOS, SAY "REBEL" ODM LEGISLATORS

As the clock glides towards the much-hyped Monday anti-government demos, a section of ODM political leaders have declared to give the protests a wide berth.

They say the current economic challenges bedeviling the country won't be tackled through political confrontation and other real or imaginable forms of political partisanship.

"We firmly believe that the current economic challenges facing Kenya will not be resolved by political confrontation... it's time to have a national economic dialogue to find solutions to our collective economic challenges.

"We want to categorically state that we'll not be participating in the planned anti-government demos. We equally urge our constituents to do likewise," read their joint statement in part.

The seven ODM legislators include Tom Ojienda, Phelix O. Jalango, Gideon Ochanda, Caroli Omondi, Paula Abuor, Elisha Odhiambo and Mark Nyamita.
