Beloved friends and supporters,

Today we witnessed a moment that touched all our hearts: the Patriarch himself bending down to serve food to the poor here in Kenya. In that simple act, he reminded us that the Church’s greatest strength is not in buildings or titles, but in love made visible — love that feeds, heals, and restores dignity.
As he placed food into the hands of the hungry, he showed us what your generosity makes possible every day at St. Irene. Your kindness becomes bread for the orphan, hope for the struggling mother, and comfort for the child who has known too much hardship.
This sacred moment invites all of us to continue walking in the same spirit of compassion. With your support, we can keep feeding, educating, and uplifting the children and families entrusted to our care.
May God bless you for standing with us in this holy work of mercy.

Beloved friends and supporters of St. Irene Orthodox Mission Centre,
Grace and peace to you.
Today we share a moment of profound joy and hope for our mission in Kenya. By the mercy of God, a new deacon has been ordained to serve the Church and the children of our community. This sacred event is not only a blessing for the altar—it is a sign of growth, stability, and maturity for the entire mission.
Every ordination in Africa is a seed of the Gospel planted in fertile soil. A deacon is not simply a liturgical servant; he becomes a pillar of the community, a voice of compassion, and a bridge between the Church and the people. His ministry strengthens our ability to care for the children, support families, and bring the light of Christ to villages hungering for hope.
This ordination is also a testament to your generosity.
Because of your love:
• The mission continues to raise young men in faith and service
• The children witness living examples of Orthodox leadership
• Our liturgical life grows deeper and more vibrant
• The Church in Kenya becomes stronger, more rooted, and more capable of serving its people
As we continue building the dining hall, feeding the children, educating them, and nurturing their spiritual lives, the presence of a new deacon strengthens every part of our work. He will assist in catechism, visit families, support the youth, and help guide the next generation of faithful Christians.
Your support does not only build buildings—it builds people, vocations, and future leaders of the Church in Africa.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for walking with us.
May God bless you for helping this mission grow in both spirit and service.
With gratitude in Christ,
Fr. Constantinos Eliud

Beloved friends in Christ,

I greet you with deep gratitude and with a heart full of emotion after a week that will remain forever in the memory of our Church in Kenya. We were blessed beyond measure to welcome His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II, the spiritual father of all Africa, to our country. His presence among us was not simply ceremonial — it was a moment of grace, renewal, and profound encouragement for all who labor in the vineyard of the Lord.
During his visit, His Beatitude reminded us that the true strength of the Church is found not in buildings or ceremonies, but in love — especially love offered to the poor, the forgotten, and the little ones whom Christ Himself calls His own. His fatherly words touched us deeply. His blessing strengthened our resolve. His compassion renewed our mission.
Here at St. Irene Orthodox Mission Centre and Orphanage, we felt this blessing in a very real and personal way. The Patriarch’s message echoed the daily reality of our children — children who depend on us for food, safety, education, and the hope of a better future. Children who look to us as their family. Children who look to you as their lifeline.
But my dear friend, I must speak to you with honesty and urgency.
We are now facing one of the most difficult moments in our mission’s history.
Our food supplies are running dangerously low.
Our dining hall — the very place where our children should gather with dignity and safety — remains unfinished.
Our daily needs continue to grow as more vulnerable children seek refuge and care.
The Patriarch’s visit filled our hearts with hope,
We urgently need your help.

Your generosity today will make an immediate and life‑changing difference.
Your gift will help us:
• Provide daily meals for our children
• Finish the dining hall, giving them a safe and dignified place to eat
• Sustain their education, healthcare, and spiritual formation
• Continue offering a home filled with love, stability, and faith
Every contribution — whether large or small — becomes a miracle in the life of a child.
As His Beatitude reminded us during his visit, “Where there is love, there is God.”
Your love today becomes the presence of God in the life of a child who has no one else.
I humbly ask you, from the depths of my heart, to stand with us at this critical moment.
Let your kindness today be the blessing that carries us forward.
Let your generosity be the answer to a child’s prayer.
May the Lord bless you richly for your compassion, and may the joy of this historic Patriarchal visit fill your home with peace.
With gratitude, prayer, and hope,
Fr. Constantinos Eliud

Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
Grace and peace be with you.

Today, our Orthodox Church in Africa witnessed a moment of profound beauty and hope as Makarios III Seminary celebrated the graduation of a new class of young men who have offered their lives to Christ. This sacred event was presided over by His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria and All Africa and His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, whose presence filled the day with apostolic joy and fatherly blessing.

As I stood among the faithful, watching these young servants of God receive their blessing to go forth into the vineyard of the Lord, my heart was moved with deep gratitude. Gratitude for the Church that continues to nurture her children. Gratitude for the spiritual fathers who guide us with humility and love. And gratitude for the countless supporters—near and far—who make the mission of Orthodox formation in Africa possible.

Beloved friend in Christ,
On this holy Feast of the Ascension of our Lord, we are reminded that Christ rises to lift all humanity with Him—especially the little ones who depend on our love and mercy.
Today, at St. Irene Orthodox Mission Centre, we face an urgent need.
Although the kitchen is now complete, our children still have no proper place to sit and eat their meals. Every day they sit on the open field, exposed to rain, cold, and mud. Even after the foundation stone for the new dining hall was blessed, we cannot begin construction without immediate support.
This Ascension Day, we humbly ask you to help us lift our children into dignity.
Your offering today will go directly toward building the dining hall—a safe, clean, and sheltered place where over 300 children can eat, study, and gather without fear of the weather.
As Christ ascends, He calls us to lift others.
Your generosity today becomes that lifting.
May the Ascended Lord bless you for standing with our children in this urgent moment.
With gratitude and prayers,
Fr. Constantinos Eliud

Today I celebrate my Name Day in honour of Saints Constantine and Helen.
I give glory to God for their shining example of faith, courage, and holy leadership.

Saint Constantine reminds us that God can transform any life and use it to build His Kingdom.
Saint Helen teaches us the power of love, perseverance, and the search for the Holy Cross.

As I serve the children and families of St. Irene Orthodox Mission Centre, I pray that their holy prayers strengthen my hands and guide every step of this mission.

May Christ bless all of you who walk with us, support us, and pray for our work.
Your love continues to build hope, dignity, and a future for our children.

Feast of Saints Constantine & Helen — May their intercessions protect us all.

The blind man teaches us that God sees possibility where others see problems. Christ touches the forgotten, sends them to healing, and gives them a testimony no one can silence. At St. Irene, every child is a living witness: once vulnerable, now filled with hope. ‘One thing I know: I was blind, and now I see.

Celebrating Mothers with Love and Prayer
Happy Mother’s Day, today we carry the joy of honoring the gift of motherhood a love that nurtures, protects, and sacrifices without measure. At St. Irene Orthodox Mission Centre & Orphanage, we know what motherly love means to us, because our spiritual matron, St. Irene, was herself a woman of courage, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Her example inspires us daily as we strive to be a mother to the motherless embracing children who long for care, dignity, and hope. Through nourishment, education, and spiritual guidance, our Mission Centre reflects the heart of motherhood: giving without expecting, loving without limits.

A Prayer for All Mothers
We lift our hearts in prayer:

O Lord, bless all mothers today. Grant them strength in their labors, joy in their sacrifices, and peace in their hearts. May their love reflect Your divine mercy, and may they be rewarded abundantly for every tear, every prayer, and every act of care. Bless also our Mission Centre, that it may continue to be a mother to the motherless, offering comfort and hope to every child entrusted to us.

Happy Mother’s Day Message
To all mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers we celebrate you with love and gratitude. Your sacrifices, your prayers, and your endless devotion are a reflection of God’s mercy. You are the heartbeat of families, the strength of communities, and the gentle hands that shape the future.
