The percentage of married women using modern contraceptive has steadily increased over time, from 32% in 2003 to 57% in 2022; however, there is still more work needed. All women, regardless of if they are married or not, should have access to the contraceptive of their choice.

COAH-K is committed to ensuring that all adolescents and young people’s Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights are respected, guaranteed and promoted, and that they are equipped with knowledge in health issues and have skills to forge their path to a healthy life.

I'm supporting the "Just a Period" campaign.

Millions of women and girls suffer with severe period pain or heavy bleeding that disrupts their lives. They’re told it’s “just a period”.

This is unacceptable.

Painful periods and heavy bleeding aren’t ‘just’ signs that you’re on. They may be signs that you need medical advice, diagnosis, and treatment for a gynecological condition.

Join the "Just a Period” campaign today. Together let’s put an end to periods that hold us back https://wellbeingofwomen.org.uk/periods

Worldwide, only 2 out of 5 schools (39%) provide menstrual health education.

Studies show that stigma related to menstruation remains widespread, with adolescents often feeling ashamed or unable to openly discuss the topic. This shame can affect their mental health and school attendance.

COAH-K envisions a world where young people can realize their full potential and lead a healthy life regardless of who they are and where they live. No one should feel shame about their period and everyone deserve access to menstrual products and education.

Happy Intersex Remembrance Day!

This day, also known as Intersex Solidarity Day, is celebrated every November 8th to highlight the continued need to advocate for intersex & human rights.

Remembrance Day is observed on Nov. 8 to honor the birthday of Herculine Barbin, a 19th-Century French intersex person whose memoirs were later published by philosopher Michel Foucault. Barbin was put in the spotlight after doctors found them to be intersex. Barbin’s short & difficult life shed light on the need for increased awareness & acceptance of intersex people.

COAH-K is committed to ensuring that all adolescents & young people’s Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights are respected, guaranteed & promoted, & that they are equipped with knowledge in health issues & have skills to forge their path to a healthy life.

Happy Disability Pride Month! After The United States passed Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26th, 1990, cities around the world have begun celebrating every July.

Disability Pride Month celebrates disabled persons embracing their as integral parts of who they are, reclaiming visibility in public & interacting fully with their disabilities out in the open, & rejecting shame & internalized ableism. It is a time for the disability community to come together, uplift, & amplify one another’s voices & be heard. Disability pride has been described as “accepting & honoring each person’s uniqueness and seeing it as a natural and beautiful part of human diversity.”

COAH-K envisions a world where young people can realize their full potential & lead a healthy life regardless of who they are & where they live. Let's join together to spread the word about Disability Pride & the work that still needs to be done to advance !
