is the youngest continent in the world, with over 60% of its population under the age of 25. By 2030, African youth will make up 42% of the world’s . ([World Economic Forum, PRB])
This is not just a demographic reality—it’s a defining force. If equipped, empowered, and supported, this generation has the numbers, energy, and urgency to drive the solutions the world desperately needs.
At we are witnessing this shift firsthand. Through our school-based programs like Young Earth Guardians, students are learning early that the future of the planet is in their hands. They are not waiting to be told what to do—they are doing it. One tree at a time.
They understand now, perhaps more than ever, that change isn’t a problem for future generations—it’s theirs to face. Floods are ruining homes, droughts are wiping out crops, and seasons are no longer reliable. The earth they will inherit is not the one their grandparents knew.
So the question isn’t whether young people can lead climate action—it’s whether we are listening, supporting, and walking with them as they rise.
