From inception,we take children from the streets of Ruiru. However we also do admit children who are vulnerable and whom we see may eventually end up in the streets. Like children who have been orphaned and do not have a relative to take care of them.We also admit children referred to us from other parties that are also working with OVCs. We walk through life with these children at the centre in
a program that involves:
• Exposing the children to the love of Jesus Christ-Spiritual nourishment
• Feeding them
• Counselling them
• Ensuring they go to school and get quality education.
• The children also carry out daily family chores like cooking, gardening, washing their cloths, and other recreative activities including Drama and Dancing. We make the children feel at home and loved. While the child is rehabilitating in the centre,we also link up with their family members and create a relationship that helps us reintegrate the child back to the family after the child sit for their KCPE. We then follow up the child as the child goes through his/her secondary school education. We get sponsors to pay school fees for the child and provide for other needs. At this juncture I want to note that we have a challenge in that we do not have funds to educate the young adults after they complete their secondary school education. We are trusting God to find people or an organization that can partner with us to help these young adults get college/University education. We have formed a Watu Wa Maana Allumni to help us keep in touch and network. We appeal to anyone who has any way of helping us to contact us.
