I was so proud of our Enterprise when I visited them in Kenya! As you can see they are very organized as they sew the feminine hygiene kits. The kits are done with pride and quality and they have been sewing 500 Smart Starter kits each month for the Boda girl project! We could not have done this without the support of Days for Girls Boise Southwest ID Team and Tiba Foundation Home of the Boda Girls

Meet our amazing seamstresses! Mary, Caroline, Mourne, Linet, Rachel and Aphline.
Without their continued commitent to sew quality Days for Girls kits we would not be successful! They have been sewing over 500 Smart Starter kits a month as well as sewing tower gardens too.

This is what 500 Smart Starters Kits look like to be sent to Matibabu in Siya county, for the Boda girls project. This involved alot of sewing by our 6 seamstresses and assembly to get this order ready. For August they sewed:
1000 shields
2,000 pads
500 transport bags/carry pouch
Purchased 1,000 underwear
500 soaps
500 information sheets
The enterprise will continue to sew, assemble and deliver 500 kits per month August through January 2023. This is a huge honor and responsibility as they help so many girls.
We are also very grateful for the support of Days for Girls Boise Southwest ID Team for purchasing the extra pair of underwear for the kits. Jacob and Aphline are seen here finalizing the order. Tiba Foundation Home of the Boda Girls

700 kits sewn by our 6 seamstresses in Oyugis town is no small job. It takes lots of teamwork and commitment and the leadership of Rachel Ondiegi and Jacob Tindi Oongo.
Our Enterprise could not function without the support and partnership from: Tiba Foundation and Days for Girls Boise Southwest ID Team and Susan Thompson for the purchase of 200 Supreme Kits for the Boda girl project and 300 Smart Starter kits for Busia and Sharon Allen for her purchase of 200 Supreme Kits for Kakrigu Primary School located on Mfangano Island.
Thank you for all of your support on this journey to change the lives of so many women and girls in Kenya.

Jacob and Rachel just returned from traveling to Mfangano Island where they were able to teach to 213 boys and girls at Kakrigu Primary School and also local women, reaching over 240 people. Each girl received a Supreme Days for Girls kit and learned valuable information about their bodies. These kits are reusable for up to 3 years and allows these beautiful girls to attend school when on their cycles. Boys were also taught from the program about respect and their bodies too.
Alot goes into one of these classes, kits are sewn and assembled, packed, travel to the location by bus, set up and then magic of teaching and touching lives.
Thank you to Sharon Allen for making this possible and Mr. Bernard Odhiambo head teacher for organizing it in Kenya.

This video says it all! Just look at the faces of these school girls who have just received a Smart Starter kit sewn by our sewing enterprise and important education about their body and menstrual cycle too! Also notice the 3 motorcycles and the women standing next to them - those are the Boda drivers who teach the classes, distribute kits and also give free rides to medical appointments. We are so proud to be a part of this program where girls and women are being empowered!
