Maybe real leadership isn’t louder, faster, or more certain—maybe it’s the courage to stay, listen, and build where others walk away.

If you’re ready to lead differently, Common Ground Leadership is where it starts.

Search for Common Ground is conducting a Digital Stewards Training in Kwale under the Catalyst Project implemented in partnership with CREAW Kenya and Technical University of Mombasa - TUM. The training has brought together young people to strengthen their capacity to navigate and shape safer digital spaces in Kenya.

The sessions focused on gender norms, hate speech, and disinformation, and created an open, interactive environment where participants actively reflected on their lived online experiences and the realities of today’s digital ecosystem.

The digital stewards are demonstrating a strong engagement as they unpacked harmful stereotypes, online hate, and the ripple effects of false information on communities both online and offline.

Catalyst is a scalable 18-month consortium project tackling online misogyny and gender-based violence as pathways to radicalisation and violent extremism. Led by the Christchurch Call Foundation with implementing partners including ISD, Meedan, Search for Common Ground, PERIL at American University.

Search for Common Ground is conducting a second round of Training for Kilifi County Digital Stewards under the Catalyst project. The training strengthens participants’ capacity to foster inclusive, safe, and responsible digital engagement.

Through the CGA Activities, participants gained practical skills in dialogue, empathy, and collaborative problem-solving, reinforcing the importance of constructive engagement in diverse community settings.

The sessions on gender norms further deepened understanding by unpacking the concept of gender, challenging stereotypes, and examining gender dynamics in digital spaces, laying the groundwork for more inclusive and gender-responsive community engagement.

Together we are pioneering novel ways to prevent violence: from open-source AI detection tools to gaming safely curricula, peer mentorship programs, a civil servant academy, and a Global Policy Dialogue to be held in October ‘26, all grounded in cutting edge research.
