Today, we officially opened our Organic Farmers Market—a dream that has been long awaited. The smiles on our farmers' faces, the freshness of the produce, and the excitement from customers say it all: this is the beginning of something great!

As we celebrated World Environment Day, we also planted trees to reaffirm our commitment to caring for our soil, water, air, people, and planet through agroecology.

Congratulations to Kismart Organic Farmers for making this vision a reality! Together, let's grow healthy food, healthy communities, and a healthy environment.

Today we had an amazing time as we launched the Ki-Smart PGS Organic farmers market at Ndeiya. One step bolder to having achieved and to reaching more households to embarace safe and Clean food, guaranteed access to Farm produce (Farm to fork) ,consumer gets knows how their food is grown and creatting awareness to the community on good diets and are healthy for their families.

🪻🪻Learning Beyond the Farm! 🥑🥦

What an exciting and inspiring learning exchange! CSHEP facilitated a farm visit to al Charis Farm l, Naivasha. The visit was filled with learning on:
🌾Kitchen Gardening for land maximization.
🐔 Poultry farming especially on the ornamental birds rearing.
🐐Animal Rearing and farming and how to utilise space for rearing and how they can be integrated into the farm.
☘️Tour of the farm to learn on farm layout amd planning, pest management and biodiversity ii n the farm.
🌳How to earn from the farm through various Enterprises that one can engage in.
🌴Importance of using renewable source of energy by use if Biogas and making Brickets.

Farmers returned energized, inspired and alot to reflect on and how they can intergrate

What an exciting and inspiring learning exchange! Through the SMAP Project, PELUM Kenya and CSHEP facilitated farmers from NYOTA 3000 PGS to visit the thriving INOGOF Organic Farmers Market.

The visit was filled with learning, networking, and sharing of best marketing practices. Farmers returned energized, inspired, and ready to take their market to the next level!💚🔥💥🏵

A big thank you to PELUM Kenya, the farmers, and CSHEP for making this valuable experience possible. 🌿

‎How can you make Agroecology fun for learners? 🤔

Well the easiest way is through interactive games. Today we got an opportunity to work on the Food Heroes Game with Teachers from the Multifunctional School networks in Ndeiya, Subcounty Officers un Agriculture, Health,Education and CSHEP Staff to build more capacity on the game.
‎The games uses Fun board games and food system cards that one can learn on sustainable Good farming practices, recycling, composting, soil tillage techniques, kitchen garden, IPM, Environmental conservation, record keeping, marketing of farm produce among other being guided by the 13 Agroecology principles.

‎This Agroecology Game Based Curriculum to strengthen activities of 4K club was developed in cooperation with the Multifunction school networks with Community Sustainable Agriculture and Healthy Environmental Program (CSHEP) DRYLANDS NATURAL RESOURCES CENTRE (DNRC) under the CGIAR science program led by Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT in collaboration with The Grass company and fsysgame.org
