In the Old Testament, God established a system of sacrifices to deal with sin, clearly outlined in books like Book of Leviticus. Because sin separates people from God and carries the penalty of death, an animal—such as a goat, lamb, or bull—would be offered as a substitute. The animal had to be without defect, symbolizing innocence, and its blood was shed in place of the sinner. This act demonstrated that something pure was dying on behalf of what was guilty. In stories like that of Abraham, where a ram was provided instead of Isaac, we see the idea of substitution clearly. However, these sacrifices had a limitation: they did not remove sin completely but only covered it temporarily, which is why they had to be repeated continually.
In the New Testament, this entire system reaches its fulfillment through Jesus Christ. Instead of animals, God provided His own Son as the perfect and final sacrifice. Jesus lived a sinless life and then offered Himself on the cross, taking the place of humanity just as the animals once did, but in a far greater way. His sacrifice was not temporary or repetitive; it was once and for all. Rather than merely covering sin, Jesus completely removed it and restored the relationship between God and humanity. This means that the old system of animal sacrifices is no longer needed, because what they pointed toward has now been fully accomplished through Christ.

Theme: God’s Armour (Ephesians 6:10–18).

This year theme is calling the church to live spiritually alert, prepared, and grounded in God’s strength. The Christian life involves spiritual battles that cannot be fought with human strength or wisdom.

Apostle Paul reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces, and therefore God Himself has provided the full armor we need. To “put on” God’s armour is to take responsibility for our spiritual lives drawing strength from the Lord, standing on truth, walking in righteousness, and remaining anchored in the assurance of salvation.

God’s armour represents a daily lifestyle of faith and obedience. Through truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer, believers are equipped to stand firm, resist the enemy, and walk in victory.

As a church, we commit to prayer, the Word, and holy living, trusting that as we are clothed in God’s armour, we will overcome every challenge and fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.
