*NAROK COUNTY, KRCS @60*
The Community Epidemic and Pandemic Preparedness Program (CP3) is a health initiative project aimed at strengthening Public Health in Communities through community-based surveillance (CBS)and response to health alerts. It equips Community Health Promoters (CHPs) with the skills and knowledge to recognize, report, and react to outbreaks at the grassroots level, enhancing early warning and preparedness systems.
Today marked the final day of CP3 CBS feedback sessions in Transmara West and East a key activity that strengthened community-based surveillance.
The sessions refreshed CHPs on Community case definitions, reporting unusual cases, and provided a platform to share challenges and success stories since project inception. The quarterly forums were impactful, with CHPs actively contributing feedback to improve reporting systems.
Additionally, the sessions introduced the Kenya Red Cross Society’s training and membership opportunities, empowering CHPs to better address community health concerns.Kenya Red Cross SocietyAmerican Red Cross @60

*Narok County Branch*,
In celebration of 60 years of service humanity CP3 Project Update – Transmara East.

CP3 project activities resumed today in Transmara East, with Community-Based Surveillance (CBS) review and feedback sessions held across five Community Health units: Sosiana, Mogondo, Mogor, Takitech, and Kuresiet in Mogondo and Ololmaasani Wards.
The sessions, led by Red Cross Volunteers, SCCHSC, PHOs, Unit CHAs/AHAs, and facility in-charges, focused on strengthening alert reporting and stragies on response mechanisms.
Although these are newly escalated units, no major gaps were observed, contrary to earlier concerns stemming from delays of the project since last Year.
CHPs committed to intensified monitoring of community health issues and will submit Zero Reports every Monday to confirm their ongoing engagement.
The Activities are set to Continue throughout the week in Transmara East and Transmara West. Kenya Red Cross Society

FORD FOUNDATION PROJECT UPDATE

Community health outreaches are important because they offer health education, raise awareness about disease prevention ,healthy lifestyle and empower individuals to make informed health decisions. Consistent outreach also fosters trust between healthcare providers and community members, encouraging individuals to seek medical assistance when needed and strengthening the overall health infrastructure of the community.

Today, KRCS Narok conducted an integrated health outreach at Osupuko, Narok East Sub-County. The outreach, hosted at Dominion Church, saw over 100 clients, and they received various services, NCD screening, nutrition assessments, deworming, family planning services, treatment and immunization for children under 5 years.

Other supported outreaches were conducted in Osarara and Olposimoru in Narok West with over 200 community members reached with integrated services.
